That was a true Raúl style Goal, but Higuaín is playing very good.

According to a few sources, Real Valladolid have made contact with Real Madrid for striker Gonzalo Higuain, proposing a deal in which Valladolid would get Higuain, and Madrid would have first choice for all of their players.

It's likely bull****, but I found it funny and decided to post.

I like Huntelaar, really happy that he scored his first goal in white, I think he can become "the new Ruud" BUT with mostly likely Florentino Pérez becoming the new president, he will want to bring in a Benzema and/or Tevez and those no space for him.

Apparently he scored a beauty of a goal when Real Madrid played Castilla (youth squad) mid-week

Fan pressure getting to Drenthe

Real Madrid winger Royston Drenthe was left out of the last three squads at his own request after being heckled by home fans at the Bernabeu last month, coach Juande Ramos has said.
"Drenthe's suffering from anxiety. He's a young lad that needs all the support of the people who work with him," Ramos told radio station Cadena Ser.
"As his coach I will do all I can to help him because he has a lot of potential."
The Dutch youth international, 21, was whistled and mocked by Real fans during their 1-0 home win over Deportivo Coruna on Jan. 25, and was visibly upset after the game.
He was left out of the squads against Numancia, Racing Santander and Sporting Gijon and last Friday appealed to his own fans to get behind him.
"I don't like to feel like I am playing at the Nou Camp or another rival's stadium when I am playing at home," he told sports daily Marca. "When the fans are unhappy you notice it and it makes it harder to perform well."
The champions have won their last eight matches on the trot and are 10 points behind Primera Liga leaders Barcelona in second place.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Drenthe should have a talk with Marcelo , he arguably is one of the major players to blame for the slow start to the season, he was heckled and whistled at many many times but has come back in a new role and played with a ton of confidence over the weekend, at the Bernabéu he should get a nice reception. Royston toughen up! and step up your play

Aznar out of Real running

Former Spain prime minister Jose Maria Aznar has ruled himself out as candidate for Real Madrid's presidential elections in the summer despite being a high profile fan of the club.

The 56-year-old politician had been tipped to make a bid for the top job at Santiago Bernabeu, but has revealed that he would not be eligible to contest the post at the moment.

Real Madrid's statutes require that nominees for president have been socios (club members) for at least 10 years and Aznar has only held that standing for half that amount of time.

"I was made a socio of Real Madrid when I was seven-years-old, but afterwards I did not renew and now I have only been a member again for five years," he told Cadena Ser.

Aznar tipped Florentino Perez to run again and thinks that if the man who was in charge of Los Blancos for six years, between 2000 and 2006, entered the race he would be a popular choice.

"Apart from being a great person, he was a great president of Real Madrid," the former Partido Popular leader explained.

"He left something big to build on and I do not know if he would like to return or not, but I know that if he did then he would be well received.

"To be president of Real Madrid is such a great temptation that it is hard to resist, even for a second time it would be difficult not to want it."

Shame that Drenthe isn't playing because of some fans. Don't watch La Liga, so have his performances deserved the harsh criticism?

He does try very hard but its like he is trying to hard and then makes mistakes, he has had some bad games but so has everyone.

I hope he comes through this but i imagine Real will sell him in the summer because he cant handle the pressure from the fans

tbh, Drenthe messed up his carreer when he went to Real Madrid. He was too young and imo should've stayed with Feyenoord for atleast 2 years. Now he's on the bench doing nothing but he just isn't ready for a big club like Real yet. I really hope he can go on loan somewhere, because he has alot of potential but like this he won't improve.

I disagree on the age issue because Gago, Marcelo and Higuaín was the same age when the moved to Madrid (and from the other side of the world) and they have settled well enough.

Both Marcelo and Higuaín suffered booing from the Madrid fans also

True, but Drenthe aint no wonder kid like Messi Ronaldo Higauin. I'm quite sure that he would've been better if he stayed with Feyenoord longer than sitting on the bench at real

Yep, they were actually younger than Drenthe when they came over to Madrid but they have been able to come out through the boos, especially Marcelo who did it Sunday, and are assets to the team now

Drenthe will be sold in the summer in my opinion anyway

-Javi Garcia is complaining about playing time, again
-Karim Benzema says he will decide on his future after Lyon's CL tie with Barcelona (aka "If we lose, I'm leaving" Am I really going to have to root for Barca in Europe..)
-Fabio Cannavaro's agent has flown to Madrid for contract negotions, his contract runs out in July

S-S-S-Squad List for Real Betis Balompié :

Porteros
Casillas, Codina, Dudek
Defensas
Pepe, Ramos, Cannavaro, Marcelo, Heinze, Metzelder, Torres
Centrocampistas
Gago, Lass, Guti, Sneijder, Robben
Delanteros
Raúl, Huntelaar, Higuaín, Saviola

No Faubert, No Van der Vaart and no Drenthe

Robben may start but if he does I think he'll be subbed of for Huntelaar and Higuaín will move out wide with Huntelaar/Raúl as the forwards. No Faubert is weird (especially since Juande called up 3 keepers) seeing how he adds depth out wide and this squad only has one true winger in Robben, Van der Vaart as far as I know is fully fit and Drenthe was expected to be left out because of the Bernabéu crowd issues.

Iker is suffering from abdominal pain, which might be why Juande called up 3 keepers for Saturday's game, AS reports that he will start.
