He's getting better - two clinical finishes tonight, but he still misses far too many. Drogba's looked so dis-interested and lazy in each and every game he's played that i'm beginning to wonder why we should keep him. He owes us big time after how he acted at the end of last season, and he hasn't yet looked comfortable in Scolari's formation.

We need a top class winger and depending how Anelka improves by the end of the season, a top striker. We're thread bare up front right now.

Malouda is looking more comfortable and is doing more forward runs, but still imo is useless. Meanwhile Kalou I still think is a load of rubbish, he can't finish to save his life. We defiently need a world-class winger and possibly a striker next season. Good result tonite though I suppose.

Wow I was just coming here to post that some thing. ( Perhaps with a bit more sophistication). But we actually agreed on something!

It's all good now, but his conversation rate is woeful. We seem to be creating more chances than anyone in the Premiership, could have won the majority of our games by 10... in all fairness, Malouda's been even worse.

Tonight he seemed extremely lethal in front of goal, two quality finishes, getting better.

I think it's funny how Kenyon I think it was was talking about how we arent buying in January because big players arent available and you don't get the quality you need available in January...just wondering how Anelka felt about those comments

That is why Scolari wanted Robinho, Robinho is a goal scorer(he is creative though) and Malouda is a play maker that is why I don't blame malouda for missing those chances and he is not bough footed.

Of course a lot of people doubted him at first, and still do and so they should they are entitled to it. When he scores 1 goal from about 16 games last season how else are people supposed to react? And even this year despite having a decent scoring rate he wasted soo many chances but over the last month or so he's picked himself up and is scoring consistently and not fumbling any(or not as much) chances as before.

As far as Drogba is concerned i don't think he should walk into the side whenever he feels and i don't think he should start again until Anelka hits bad form(which hopefully will never happen in the first place)

IMO if we are going to play Drogba we are going to play differently because when we play Anelka our striker is aways moving from side to side and the other team never knows where he will be, however when we play Drogba he is aways going to be in the middle.

I truly do think Drogba is past it, he is too predictable all he does is hold up the ball and thats only when we hoof it too him because of his aerial threat but we play more or less on the ground nowadays which is something i don't think he is too accustomed to + he isn't anywhere near as close to Anelka in pace and off-the-ball-movement. I still think Drogba has far better finishing than Anelka but what use is that if you can't effectively get into decent positions to get the ball...this pretty much cancels him out of Scolari's plans.

If Madrid still want a forward we could well sell Drogba to them to bring in some funds for a a winger as im still not convinced with Malouda. Hopefully it can change but right now, he seems to burn small teams but up against good teams he gets skinned and it's costing us too much when we go forward.

Obviously imnot a chelsea fan but i think ( although it hasnt showed yet) that other teams are happy Drogba isnt playing. Yes, Anelka is on fire at the moment scoring all kinds of goals but Drogba is so hard to handle. Overall hes by far a abetter player than Anelka. So far its just the term: If its not broken, dont fix it.

Drogba has always been about finishing and a bit about dribbling, just give him time to adapt to his new role, we are not going to sell our killer, just because Anelka is on fire it doen't mean that Drogba is forgotten, Drogba isn't even fit at the moment.

I'm just happy we finally look like we might have a 30+ goals a year striker in Anelka which really is something we haven't had since JFH

Me too, now lets hope Scolari doens't move Anelka to the wing like Avran Grant.

Sahar frustrated at Pompey
On-loan Israeli unlikely to extend Portsmouth stay

Ben Sahar has vented his frustration at his lack of opportunities at Portsmouth and confirmed he is looking forward to the January transfer window.
The Chelsea striker signed at Fratton Park in the summer on a six-month loan but has yet to feature for the South Coast outfit.
Sahar, 19, is eager for a chance to impress new boss Tony Adams but concedes he is hopeful of finding a new club at the turn of the year.
He said in the News of the World: "I haven't spoken with our new manager - only with the coaches.
"They tell me it is difficult right now with Peter Crouch and Jermain Defoe the first-choice strikers.
"If I had played a few games and they said I wasn't good enough, then fine. But the fact is that I haven't been given the chance to shine.
"In January I will try to find a team that wants to play me - and I've received a few offers."

If the manager took any notice of what foreverblue said they would sell players then buy them straight back. Its unbelievable how they've went from Anelka to hating Drogba now, just cos' Nicholas is banging the goals in now.

No one loves Anelka though - we're not half as fickle as your lot suddenly hailing Ronaldo Mr Man Utd again. His conversation rate is woeful, as I already said, but he is top scorer in the Prem, what we can't afford to do now is drop him to put Drogba back in... that's all. Not a question of Chelsea fans suddenly loving him is it?

He'll only get us so far, in the games where we're under the cosh he's yet to bail us out of trouble, especially with the missed opportunities, which is why we should be looking for a younger better striker in the same similar mold as Anelka in the summer.
