just watched the Cesc Fabregas interview. I honestly feel for the lad, he obviously has a huge passion for Arsenal, but also wants to win the league. One thing Cesc said that i totally agree with.

Continuosly, Arsenal fans are saying next year, next year, as in Arsene Wenger. As Cesc said, next year is not good enough.

but he did say he hopes he future is with Arsenal

If we don't win the league in the next 2 seasons, possibly one season, I think Cesc will leave for Real Madrid and I wouldn't blame him at all for doing so.

Don't think so.

I think Theo should be starting games now, certainly I value him above Rosicky.

Theo's confidence is growing and at this rate we will be paying Southampton more money from the performance clause in the transfer deal.

Rosicky should be sold in my opinion and we should try to meet the evaluation of Corinthians and scoop up Lulinha. Can you imagine a 4-5-1 with Luli and Walcott just behind Adebayor....drools that would be nice.

'I think he needs three or four, and I think he needs three or four ready-made players, star players who are going to cost big money and big salaries, which will not go down well at Arsenal.'

Asked where he feels Wenger needs to strengthen his squad, Graham replied: 'Through the middle, the spine of the team.

'They need a world-class goalkeeper, they need a centre-half, they need more mental and physical strength in the middle of the pitch.

'Unfortunately, their strikers seem to be picking up a lot of injuries, so they need somebody to play alongside (Emmanuel) Adebayor, who I think could develop into a world-class player.'
Looks like I'm not the only one that thinks we need to buy a CM regardless of the outcome with Flam and Gil.

^^ Gunnerblog says soo too

I believe a Winger is in order more than anyother position needed at Arsenal...you can always convert Hleb, or even Rosicky (in a more advanced role) to midfield. That is a much easier task than getting a new CM, and still having no "actual" wingers on the flanks...and don't say Eboue, cus that fool is better off on a pole than on a football pitch

Yeah alot of rumours of Mathieu leaving this summer...not the first time either. I think Arsenal need to keep him, because there is very little options out in the market for Arsenal right now.

Any of you heard about the Emirates cup? It's going to be better this season. Real Madrid and Juventus are going to feature in it, it's going to be great to see how the youth squads of the teams (and new signings) play against each other. CM or no CM, we need to sign big, period. David Villa would have been a dream signing but its not to be, according to Wenger. Ben Arfa would be a great addition, but he's claiming he's liking the bench (Don't ask me why) and is looking forward to extending his contract. Walcott was brilliant against Reading, though i feel we mustnt sell Rosicky, by the looks of how Walcott is performing, I think Rosicky would be an Ideal sub for him. Nasri is too expensive, but moneys not the problem for Arsenal, though i doubt Arsene will spend big on a player like him. I've said it time and time again, I would love to see Huntelaar in an Arsenal jersey. Wouldnt this look good?

----------------------Adebayor------------------
------------------------Huntelaar----------------
--Walcott-----------------------------------------
---------------Fabregas--------Nasri-----Eboue--
----------------------------------------------------
-Clichy---------------------------------------Sagna
----------------Toure(c)----Gallas------------------
----------------------------------------------------
--------------------Almunia-------------------------

I cant think of any center-halfs we could possibly sign.

if Flamini leaves then that gives Modric room to come in he can play Central or Wide which makes him ideal

Huntelaar is not a HOLE(behind the striker) player he is like Ruud, he plays(according to your formation) in Adebayors role

Nasri to arsenal?

carry on

Didn't you say that same thing before the season started? We do not need a winger, and I can't understand why you think we do. Converting Hleb to what? Hleb is a wide-player, he does not belong in the middle of the park. Arsenal need to sell Rosicky and give Walcott a chance to shine in a more forward role. Eboue and Rosicky each need to be sold because neither is doing much for the club.

Getting a new CM is not a task, the only thing stopping us from getting a proper CM is Wenger because he doesn't want to spend any money to bring in reinforcements.

Explain to me why Villa would be a dream signing? He's never played in the EPL, there is no guarantee that he would be successful, and where would we put him? We haven't ever played a 4-4-1-1 and if we did Van Persie (if healthy, and thats a big if) would be there and Adebayor would be in the front. There is a greater likelihood that Walcott would be the "Trequartista" even if Villa was bought into the team. He is a good player, but I can think of many other players that would be better signings than David Villa.

Samir Nasri isn't too expensive, if we wanted to buy him he could be purchased, but the main road block is Arsene Wenger. I don't think Nasri would be played in the inside if we bought him, I can see him playing more wide because if you look at Wenger's 12 year history he always plays more defensive minded middle men and Nasri is lacking in the areas of defense.

I think we could get Fabian Ernst, or Jeremy Toulalan for CM help, and Lucio would be an easy acquisition for CB to partner Toure. I still think Pedersen would be the ideal acquisition for us, but I doubt Wenger would pay £12M to get him.

Yeah, whenever Adebayor has been alone this season, its with Hleb right behind, Eboue out wide on one side, and then a combination of Diaby or Rosicky or Walcott on the otherside. If we got with a 4-4-2, or a 4-4-1-1 with two natural strikers (Adebayor or RVP or Eduardo or Bendtner), then Hleb goes to the outside.

Actually its a 4-5-1 not a 4-4-1-1 and Fab and Hleb are in the advanced spots. Its the same formation that Wenger used when we ran to the CL final a couples years back.

When we run 2 STs its a 4-4-2, when we have a single ST the midfield is Eboue, Flamini (before injury) Walcott/Rosicky/Sagna and Eduardo have played on the other flank depending on who was healthy. Cesc and Hleb played in the RCAM/LCAM spots with Adebayor as the lone ST. When Bendtner and Ade played together we pretty much always ran the 4-4-2 and then Hleb would drop to the RM spot.

When I said we have never run a 4-4-1-1 I didn't mean we have not ever used it, I was implying that we don't run a 4-4-1-1 as a standard formation.

Yes we have. I have numerous games on DVD that we are lined up in a 4-5-1. Stick to Manchester United because you are wrong.
