Glad to see Verm get a goal on his debut, he's been great all half!

We are looking good for a depleted side.

I've only seen clips since I am at work and can't watch the game but Thomas looks to be decent from what I have seen.

What's everyone elses's take on him in this game so far?

If he ever gets sold for that money, the profit is only going to be a consolation, not something to be too happy about.
Who said anything about it being an excuse? I know I sure didn't. Selling Cesc for immense profit is common sense. Cesc is a good player, but don't think for a moment that he does some thing that no other player can do because that's far from the reality. If Cesc eventually want to go back to Barca then it would make the most sense to sell him when he is one or two seasons from the end of his deal if it looks like he isn't going ot renew for another long term contract. If he says he will extend beyond 2014 then cool I hope he stays, but if he is wanting to return to spain after being away for 10 years then let him go plain and simple.

Exactly. So many people fail to realize that football is a business first and entertainment means second.

well done, i am not usually happy about arsenal winning but i am glad you will now shut a few people up

eventhough i still think you need a DM but i said it before, there is no doubt arsenal will not finish in the top 4

The only reason i'm put off now, is that I think Wenger will look at this win and think we could survive without any additions. Hopefully he still buys 1 or 2 defensive players, and if he does I could really see us challenging for the title.

Sweet start, I hope they'd be able to maintain this form throughout the season.

Everybody played well today, particularly impressed with Song and Denilson, I just hope they are consistent because last season they wasn't.

Congratulations on the destruction job. If Man City play well and Arsenal play well it's going to be a exciting finish for the Top 4 places.

Brilliant start, I am so happy right now lol. Song, Denilson and Bendtner have really stepped their game up. Denilson with that brilliant goal and he looks a lot more better. Song has really improved and he's cut out lots of Everton's attacks and also his passing has been great. Bendtner was good on the right wing and using his skills past Baines

good to see Eduardo get a goal. I'm only on the 88th minute but disappointed to see we conceded 1. reminds me of fifa 09 when I play against the computer, they always seem to get 1 goal to ruin my shutout attempt

He's felt that way before this game so I don't see this game changing his opinion.

Not at all. Top 4 spot will be United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool regardless of what people think will happen. Everton despite what happened today, Tottenham (maybe) and Fulham will be the challengers for 5, 6, and 7. I don't see City making a challenge that really theatens anyone.

I dont think Wenger is that naive, he knows that his side still needs to be strengthened if they are going to mount and healthy and sustainable title challenge.

Looks like a United shirt to be honest. It's definitely not an Arsenal shirt. What did Atletico's shirts looks like last season because I don't remember?

Think it was an Arsenal training top. At least that's what it looked like when I seen it during the game.

Probably an Espanyol 3rd or away kit. Great tribute from Cesc.

It was an Arsenal shirt. Not the home shirt but maybe some special training shirt or whatever. Jarque only played for Espanyol so it wouldn't be a United or Atletico top.

That's what I was thinking from the lettering, and the little white stripe at the top.

But didn't United's shirt also have a white stripe at the bottom?

Scouser Dave, that's the shirt. Look at the picture. You can see the purple on the sleeves.
