Holy Shiet...

Anyways, hey guys what Arsenal Jersey should I get this year? 3rd Fabregas? Away Vane Persie? Home Van Persie? Home Fabregas? Home Toure? Away Flamini? 3rd Flamini?

I don't know if any of you knew, but i've been supportive of Mathieu Flamini for a long time now, I think he's always deserved a place in the team. He is a great player and is now recognized for what he can really do on the pitch

I'm getting a Toure home.I haven't decided which font, but I'll probably go with EPL because that one comes with the patches. You can never go wrong with Toure.

What is LWG? I've never seen that used as a position designator. These are the position designators that I've always known and used.

LCM - Left Central Midfield
LM - Left Midfield
LWM - Left Wing Midfielder
LF - Left Forward, refered to as LWF or Left Wing Forward back in the 60's to 80's.

I'm not sure if LWG is a UK term but I'm not familiar with it. If you meant to type LWF but typed LWG then yeah yes LF is the more modern term for the position.

I actually began following Arsenal the year that Arsene took over the club. Before that I wasn't much into soccer of any sort. Over the next couple seasons I just liked the way they played because they played the game the way I've always thought it should be played. I guess you could call it fate when Arsenal signed Thierry because of any player on the planet I've tracked him the longest, so once he signed on I knew it was meant to be.

I don't have any story like some of you English cats that have family history etcetera, but nevertheless my blood runs Arsenal through and through.

Those are just FIFA positions.

Noone talks about how great of a 'left central midfielder' Lampard is. It's not even LWM I just refer to them as wingers. Not even a side usually as they switch up often

Well it would make more sense if u said LWM because "wingers" can be such as, wht u just mentioned LWM(played in midfield) and also as a LWG(Played up front in the attack zone).

You cant really say Ryan Giggs and T. Henry(who plays LWG fr barca) play the same way can u? Thats why its easier in forums etc to just say Giggs is a LWM and Henry is a LWG. Wingers is used commonly but it can cause confusion because ppl get mixed up between the attacking wingers and the midfielding wingers.

Wingers arent midfielders. Wingers are attacking WIngers, whereas David Beckham wouldve been referred to as a wide midfielder.

Winger usually refers to wide players of a 4-3-3, or sometimes the wides on a 4-5-1

Wide midfielders usually play in a 4-4-2

Although in agreeince with Arise, Ive never heard of LWG anywhere

4-3-3? I don't think so...but your two other example formations are correct.

Wingers are simply players that play along the flank of a side of a pitch...Wing-men play closer to the forward position but drift back into the side of the midifeld.

While Wing-backs play closey to the midifeld bu always drift back to the defence.

I think when you think of wingers, it's always going forward and then returning back to their primary spot to collect the ball.

I play the right flank quite often, I know how it works.

In my mind 4-3-3 always incorporates two wide forwards.

Playing 3 out and out strikers wouldnt really give much width.

Chelsea 4-3-3 synanomus with 2 wingers at striker

Oh for real? In my mind, I treat 4-3-3 as a strong midfield formation. Having atleast 2 holding midifelders and a playmaker that control the midfield with 2 wingbacks doing the connection through the flanks...and well the 3 upfront are obvious.

Porto did it quite alot last season with Lucho, Meireles, and Assuncao in the mid 3...with Lisandro, Quaresma, and Adriano up front.

It really does depend on how you play out a formation and tend to have roles for the players in each position, in your case it shows different to mind. No one is really wrong, but that's just how I see the 4-3-3 being played out.

Well when i read articles and hear the commentry, they refer Malouda, Ronaldo, Walcott ,Lennon , Ribery all as wingers when they play midfield so yeah wingers can be midfielders..
