Flamini is doing great, so no need to bench him for no reason.

BJK and Palancas both have great points...but Flamini is the man on form now, and it'll be chosen on the training grounds. I'm pretty sure AW would pick Gilberto over Flamini if there was any notice that he was doing better than him in Practice.

I do feel for Gilberto though, he got cheated out of that captains armband, and he even said it in an interview aswell.

im not sure if gilberto is even up to the standard of the rest of the squad anymore. maybe it would be better for him if he moved on.

Damn right he did... Although personally i'd rather see Toure get the armband

yah, well I also think his form has dropped slightly in the past year or two. however, he's definitely still up to the standard of arsenal. defensive midfielders will never get the recognition they deserve. he's a work horse, and still has much to offer this club. but AW has been lining up his replacements now...Flamini, Diarra, Song

I just get the feeling Gilberto's gonna consider his options and move on, much like Viera did...perhaps with Juventus...according to rumors

@ JPthorton - Yeah Toure is a beast in the back 4, not to mention he can make runs up front and rifle that ball with his shot. It's that presence every team needs that he offer like Terry and Carragher do for Chelsea, and Liverpool respectively.

The way he did'nt get the armband, was just..wow. He did'nt hear it from AW first, he heard it from the media that Gallas had gotten it. After the season he had for Arsenal in 06/07 arguably being the Gunners best player. He scored goals, he lead that midifleld, and to me, he's the reason why Fabregas is doing so well now, because of Gilberto's leadership through-out last season.

I still think Gilberto is great, and that Arsenal can play him for another 2 seasons.

but why drop Flamini for him, Flaminis in great form at the moment the problem we have is that weve got too many Centre Mids that all want to play Diaby Diarra and Gilberto have all said there not happy Denilson is another but hasnt said anything yet

I read in the paper that Arsene Wenger was thinking about buying Agbonlahor in January. I think he would be able to bring something to the squad but I'm worried that if he does come to Arsenal, he'll spend most of his time on the sidelines and then want to leave at the end of the season.

I want to see Toure as captain because I dont really like Gallas.

As for Gilberto, I think his days at Arsenal are gone because I believe even Diaby is currently up to his standard in terms of skill though not experience.

I really want Arsenal to get another quality striker because Eduardo sucks **** big time, preferably Nicolas Le Sulk Anelka.

Gallas's mentality has totally changed since being made captain. Like him or not...Its working

I apologise for being cliche, but Eduardo just hasn't adapted fully to the English game yet. He certainly doesn't suck. Did you see his 1st goal against Sheffield United? He's a quality goal poacher, and his international goal ratio speaks for itself.

And for that matter Jankren, why do you say Arsenal need another striker...they are leading the EPL in goals scored (2.25/game)...AND leading the Champions League in goals scored (2.75/game). And may I remind you, Van Persie has been injured and should be returning soon.

The only thing AW needs to sort out, is who his starting Goalkeeper will be next season.

Maybe you are right. The best way to shut up a whiner is to give him responsibility.

Thats exactly my point. When Van Persie is out Adebayor is left alone upfront and Arsenal's attack is less deadly as can be seen in the game against Man U. It is logical for a big team to have at least three ready to play class strikers plus a couple potential young ones who can play in less important games until they get better.

Lehmann sucks. He no longer has the concentration of a younger player.

Not for 15 million he won't.

I cant believe u think Eduardo is lalalala when he has just moved to England from Croatia. Dont tell me you expected him to atleast net in more than 8 goals so far in the season, im actually quite satisfied with his performance so far this season, due to the fact that hes trying to adapt to the English play. Give him time, and he will submit.
As for the january window, Arsene Wenger wont just splash money on a superstar, i'd be dead-shocked if he did. Im sure he's got some youngster in mind. Gilberto is a great player, but i would like to see a loan-swap for Mahmadou Diara of Real Madrid with Gilberto because im sure hes getting a little frustrated on the bench. I dont think we need any strikers because Goals arent really a problem for us at this stage, even with RvP being injured, besides he'l be back in 1 week. Our midfielders net in regularly so i've got no problems with our goal scoring. This is basically a brief data of our situation IMO:
Attack: We have enough strikers, we dont need more.
Midfield: Our side midfielders;Hleb and Rosicky have done us well so far. Fabregas has been mentally and physically superb and flamini has also shown he can be in the starting XI. If we were to make any transfer move on midfield, it would be a loan-swap of Gilberto and Mahmadou diarra.
Defense: Clichy as usually has done well. Toure has been absolutely superb, and Sagna has done exceptionally well for a new gunner.

Gilberto has said hed welcome a move to Juve so if he goes i dont think we really need anymore centre midfielders

No doubt, and I hate it when people will just pin the late goal addage everytime Arsenal do it, when pretty much alot of teams in every league in the world do it.

It takes alot of stamina and endurance to outlast another team the whole 90 minutes and in this case, I felt up until the 80th, when Arsenal bagged the goals needed.
