I think Mikel did give some effort, nothing special though. He held up 2 Arsenal players in the last ten minutes or so, but got stripped anyways.
No - he played well an tried to get involved.

He had a few shots, the re-bound, the one early in the match where Alumunia parried it, the header (Which should have gone across goal) and the free kick at the end... he was playing uptop alone and we never really took the game to Arsenal like Boro an Sevilla did, exposed them big time, we only did it in the last 20 minutes or so, an you could see the fear they had then.

Mikel bossed the midfield for us, everything went through him. He'll be one of the best in the future if he progresses the way he is now, quality player who'll only get better. Stayed very disciplined too until he took Fibreglass out at the end.

Hopefully we bring in some quality in January an with a string of games (an a bit of luck), he'll do the business for us.
what, Ballack, Lampard, Essien, Mikel, Pizarro, Kalou isnt good enough for you?

jesus you have more then enough, maybe not to beat arsenal but enough to beat teams below the top 6

we shoulda just signed ronaldinho when we had the chance. we would probabaly have the greatest team ever if we had signed him, but then again we probabaly would not have signed ronaldo.

nani is incredible for his age. no way we sell him. hes probably better than ronaldo at the same age. if rooney, tevez, ronaldo, anderson, and nani stick around, were good for another 5 years.

if we want and out and out striker get KLAAS JUN HUNTELAAR. he is incredible, and seems to be built in the mold of ruud, and hes dutch. hes ready right now, but if you want to develop someone for the future and has all the potential to be the greatest striker in the world, is say bag BENZEMA

I'd like to get Berbatov, but not for Nani..NO WAY!! He's going to be a brilliant winger and is definently showing great promise. I think this deal for Benzema could materialize though. For what I'm hearing on several sources(recently on Goal.com) there is a deal offered back from Lyon for Saha and Silvestre + 10m euro for Benzema. The original offer from Ferguson and the club were just the two players, but after the match against Rangers he convinced Lyon that they wanted more for him and convinced Ferguson to give what ever they wanted to get him!

Ballack - Injured for virtually all this season.
Pizarro - Not good enough
Kalou - End product is just as bad as Jesper Gronkjaers *shudders*

Not enough to beat Arsenal? Missing 6 players who'd walk right into our first team against a full strength Arsenal team was always going to be difficult.

We miss the quality like Ronaldo brings to Utd, Messi to Barca, Kaka to Milan, Hleb to Arsenal, Quaresma to Porto etc... just look at whose been replaced since Joses time - from the likes of Robben an Duff to SWP an Kalou - Not good enough!

Hleb to Arsenal? more like Fabregas.

SINCE Jose's time? Jose was the one who got rid of them

Could argue Hlebs been the more influential this season - he's certainly the one who can make runs for the team.

An yeh, Jose got rid of them - which is why I said it was in his time. In his first season we had the flair an weren't regarded so much as a physical side, right now we've completely changed an almost have a squad full of athletes like Essien rather than those technically gifted like Robben.

Wonder who Grunts going to sign in Jan.

What about Malouda, would you class him just as an athlete?

Yer... but forking £40 Mill out on Ronaldinho could just turn into another Sheva deal.

We do need a winger though, an i'm praying someone buys SWP off us, an put Kalou out on loan at least.

Kalou looked promising, aint you being a bit heavy handed. I mean, do you actually like any of your players?

Yep. He seems more of an athlete than someone technically gifted - Robben has more talent in his little toe than him, it's like we farmed out an injury prone winger with quality for another injury prone winger without it.

How he won French Player Of The Year i'll never know, didn't like him when he was at Lyon either, an he's a moany karnt too. Goes to show you should never really buy a player through manager relationships really.

He is a promising player, but one of the most frustrating players i've seen here, that includes SWP. He can get past his marker most of the time, but then he's well dodgy with his final ball - cost us plenty of games with silly mistakes, rather he was the one on loan an let someone like Sinclair have a go, cause he warrants a place more than him.

An looking at our squad, there's about 6 players I don't like at all.

Lamps? No, the players I think need to go either in January or at the end of the season are:

Ben Haim
Kalou (Loan)
SWP
Sidwell
Pizarro
Malouda
Sheva

3 of them were freebies, an they replaced players who were quality, Sheva looks like he'll be off anyway, Kalous end product is appalling an SWP ain't even a winger any more.

Honestly, don't know. Some people have come out with the most outrageous names though, last night someone was telling me we should get Kevin Davies or Robbie Keane.

Our main problem is the wings though, whether Grunt has the balls to play someone like Sinclair there I don't know yet, but we do need someone like Quaresma, he seems nearest to a Duff/Robben quality player that is available, an I know Porto will find it hard to keep him... a winger and a striker, an maybe a new defender, cause Ben Haim is terrible, have to take into account the ACN and injuries remember.

Just get the £30m ready.
Bargain, considering Sheva cost about 40.
