Park Granted Work Permit - Reports
Ji-Sung Park has been granted a work permit and could join up with his new United team-mates within a week, according to reports. The 24-year-old South Korean had a hearing in Sheffield on Monday to give the former PSV midfielder the go-ahead to join United. Park had not played the required 75% of his country's internationals over the last two years. But, as an integral part of South Korea's side and a regular for PSV Eindhoven since 2003, the Press Association claim he has now been given the green light to join United. Report by Ben Hibbs. - Now gives us Steven Gerrard

... Or Michael Ballack!
What The Papers Say Ball Keane on United Michael Ballack has sent a signal to Sir Alex Ferguson that he is ready to play in the Premiership. The Germany captain is ready to leave Bayern Munich, where he has just one year left on his contract. And that will be music to the ears of Manchester United boss Ferguson, who is a big admirer of the world-class midfielder. Ballack, talking about the prospect of moving away from the Bundesliga, said: "There are hardly any German players who are abroad who have advised me against taking such a big step. It is good for a person's development and it would also be very interesting for me. I have always made the right decisions in my career so far. I am at a top European club and I still have the chance to move abroad. I am really relaxed about it." Bill Thornton, Daily Star Keane to regain title Manchester United skipper Roy Keane has thrown down the title gauntlet to Chelsea by declaring: "We'll be back." Keane says United's disappointing Premiership campaign last season has only made them more determined to regain the league crown from Jose Mourinho's side. And Keane claims United have the players to dethrone Chelsea in Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo. "We'll be back," he said in Nuts magazine. "Disappointments like these make you hungrier for success. We are Manchester United and we will keep on fighting and reclaim the Premiership. We're strong characters, so we'll lick our wounds and come back even more determined. You look at lads like Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo and it gives you hope for the future. You saw in the Euro 2004 we have two of the great talents." The Reds midfielder took a further swipe at Chelsea when he claimed United and Arsenal were still the Premiership's big two. "Over the years I've seen Arsenal as our biggest rivals ahead of both Liverpool and Chelsea," said the Irishman. "We've been battling it out for 10 years and we're the top two." Keane's arch-rival Patrick Vieira agreed for once, adding: "Despite Chelsea, Arsenal and Man United still have the biggest rivalry." David Anderson, Daily Mirror Ron on board, Glazer Cristiano Ronaldo has pledged his future to Manchester United by declaring: “I WILL sign a new contract.” The Portuguese star, 20, has rejected offers from Real Madrid and Barcelona to stick with United as they enter the Malcolm Glazer era. Ronaldo is ready to put pen to paper this week on a £45,000-a-week deal that will tie him to Old Trafford until 2010. He said: “I am a Manchester United player but I can’t predict the future and say that will never change. Right now I play for United and I will definitely renew my contract.” This is a boost to new American owner Glazer as he seeks to appease angry fans hell-bent on opposing his takeover. Ronaldo insisted he is ready to give Glazer and boss Alex Ferguson everything as the new United regime bid to topple Chelsea from their mantle as Premiership kings. He added: “I’ve had a great holiday. Now the hard work starts again and I’m ready.” The former Sporting Lisbon ace was one of the lowest paid — on £14,000 a week — following his £12.2million arrival two years ago. Eric Beauchamp, The Sun Fergie's Kid bid Manchester United are poised to move for a keeper who has not played in seven months. Preston’s Andrew Lonergan, 22, was struck down by a cruciate knee injury last December but is now nearing full fitness. Lonergan, who has been in England Under-21 squads, is also attracting Arsenal, Bolton, Everton and Middlesbrough. Preston will cash in if the bidding hits £2million. Lonergan would face a battle to play as boss Alex Ferguson already has Tim Howard and recently- signed Edwin van der Sar. Shaun Custis, The Sun Kieran's Rich role Bryan Robson has told Kieran Richardson to stick with West Brom and clinch himself a World Cup spot. Former England skipper Robbo is desperate to persuade the Manchester United midfielder to stay at The Hawthorns for a season-long loan and tie down a place on the plane to Germany. The Albion boss said: "He has a great chance of playing first team football here week-in week-out which will give him a better chance of getting to the World Cup. Only Sir Alex can tell Kieran whether he is going to get a first team chance and you would have to say it is a risk against Paul Scholes, Cristiano Ronaldo, Ryan Giggs, Wayne Rooney and people like that who can play in his position. At his age you would have to say Kieran's best option is back here." Dave Armitage, Daily Star Round-up by Steve Bartram.

Ballacks a great player. Thats why he is in my Auxerre side! Who needed Lampard, Gerrard and Makelele in midfield when you have Keane, Scholes and Ballack.
Ballack would be a great player.
