Nothing concrete either way. Both going under intensive treatment to try get fit. Johnson say he thinks Torres will make it but not sure about Gerrard.

The only player im critical of is Berbatov, because he receives so much hype from this forum.
Well I only give so much praise to Berbatov because you're so critical of him. You don't criticise any other players when they play badly, only Berbatov.

They're both fine, I'm sure of it.

@super-manc... right... i have been critical of other players as well, Carrick hasn't had the best start to the season, far from his best. Players like nani, valencia can be better but nani is young, valencia is new, owen has missed some great chances as well, but he is new to the team, and just returned from injury. I was very critical of rio's performances especially after the city game.

We don't actually have that many establish star players in the team...
vds has been injured,
Rio has been in and out of the team, and he also deserve to be criticised, BUT rio has been very good player for us in the past few seasons so we know he will be back to his best.
vidic n evra, nothing to be critical about.
Our midfield has been changed so often after each game none of the players can really settle, fletcher had a good start to the season, but injured.
Giggs has been out best player this season.
Rooney nothing to be critical about.
That leaves berbatov, the player that is suppose to be experienced and consistent, for a 30m player into his 2nd season and doesn't drive the team on? its very disappointing, does he lift the team to a new level? no. does he inspire? no.

So don't turn this around on me.

@viva i don't bring him up after every game, and when i do because he deserves to be criticised, like i said i have been critical of other players as well.

I think: Giggs + Scholes = 1/2 World Class + 1/2 World Class = World Class

Because they're world class but they can only play in half the games.

Berbatov hasn't had a good 2 last games, but neither has the whole team.
He got absolutely no service last night so not an awful lot he could do and also he does not work well on his own neither does Rooney, don't know why Fergie insists on that formation in europe sometimes. He just didn't have a great game against Bolton, although Owen did stop him from scoring.

Before that though he was playing really well, scored in the 2 previous league games, had one of his best games against wolfsbourg, also scored 4 on international duty.

Anyway point im trying to make is most United fans here are either at 1 extreme or the other when it comes to Berbatov. Your dislike for him has made others jump to his defence a bit too much, when he was playing well few weeks ago people on here couldn't stop talking about it, partially to rub it in your face i imagine. Then after 2 bad games (for the whole team by the way, not just Berbatov) your on here criticising him when he was hardly the only player who deserved it.
Anyway in my opinion you need to be a bit more lenient towards him den while most others should probably be more critical!

wow that took way longer then i thought it would

I thought he played quite well, he didn't hold the ball up as well as he usually does against a physical Bolton side, but he created lots of chances for other players and if you watch match of the day all the best stuff went through him.

Not playing great still means you can play quite well i guess

He did have good moments in that match but not enough really in my opinion. The whole team just seemed too casual in the second half and we had so much possesion around the edge of the box yet no one killed off the game and we almost dropped 2 points, we needed Berbatov to be that man to put the game to bed but he didnt do it sadly!

I don't really think either of the two main men at the back have been good enough so far this season.

???

this is how i see it when it comes to CL group stages

win your home games, dont lose your away games

i would be happy with 3 wins and 3 draws. winning away from home is never easy in a CL and i would never call a draw away from home in the CL "dropped points"

Especially with a depleted squad playing on a plastic pitch.

We were talking about the Bolton game at the weekend.

It's very clear to see Vidic is being targeted by the other teams. Teams have realised once you get to Vidic with pace he's in trouble, it's why he hasn't looked as good as before.

He's not used to scoring with the big boys yet, he'll learn though. Hopefully Nani doesn't influence him.

Personally I'd find it quite entertaining if we had a duo of acrobats after every awesome goal

*Dons flame suit*

This is not going to be a popular decision but in order to help ease pressure on the database we are closing threads with posts over a certain amount. Feel free to create another Manchester United thread.
