With all due respect, Owen? I mean......it's come down to Owen? Im not baiting but surely even Manchester fans must be scratching their heads. The whole thing is so surreal to me. first Ronaldo leaves, Tevez leaves and Valencia and Owen come in. IMO, doesn't sound too good to me.

if owen can stay injury free he is better then tevez, especially in terms of taking chances. he is a poacher

no one was gonna replace ronaldo, with valencia atleast we get huge work rate, tracking back, pace, power and good crossing. i am also thinking fergie might sign a LM and a RB.

if hargreaves looks like he might not be able to play without his knee being a problem then a DM is needed too

Hard too see that to be honest, i mean in addition to his injuries problems his confidence is weak atm. Alex Ferguson is gonna have his hands full trying to deal with that.

Being that he went on the free and hs salary is set up differently, etc. it's not a bad back up move but I think maybe the fans are looking for something more?

Best LM would be David Silva right? Who would be the best RB? Or would it be better to have Rafael get more time

.... That's why you support a top four team. You want to support the best team/s so you can laugh at others. Pretty pathetic imo

It seems Manchester United are unsure about what big signing to do or are there any to sign?. They had to sell Ronaldo, Tevez wanted to go, Kaka was already taken, Benzema went on the Madrid Bandwagon, Valencia was a viable alternative, Ribery is "not on sale" and wants to go to Madrid, Villa was taken off the transfer list, and now Owen was signed on a free transfer. I agree that Silva seems like the best available player. Top forwards out there that manchester might want to bring in are Aguero, Eto, Ibrahimovic,or David Villa. Theres pleanty of speculation about these players moving...maybe one of them ends up at old trafford....who knows

I wonder if they could keep that up here. If we can get Carrick + Anderson in top form helping them ut'll be a great force. Though I wonder how much time Owen will get with Berba around

depends on his performances i would think. huge pre season coming up for berba and owen, hope both stay injury free. we were hammered with injuries at the start of last season (08/09)

Why in the world did Manchester United sign Owen on a free when they have 80 million to sign virtually anyone they want.

I'm not saying Owen won't be good, just thought maybe they'd preffer someone younger and less fragile.

who would we sign? we may have £80m but that dosnt mean we want to pay over the odds for a player. the players you would think is aguero.. but he is overvalued

many clubs want to suck as much money as possible from us cause they know we have £80m so that makes our job ALOT harder. atleast with owen we get a good back up player that is a quality goal poacher, something we have missed. we still have a £60m striker partnership in berba and rooney, ferguson didnt sign berba to play 1 season

Even madrid had to say no to D.Villa cause valencia was asking too much, madrid have ruined the summer transfer window with their huge spendings

That.

We might have £80M, but there's no sense in buying players just to buy players. If the ones we want aren't available yet, then so be it.

People are talking like this is the end of the transfer-window, there's still over a month left...

u busted me, i started supporting United from when i was 3 (1992) bcoz i knew they would always be a top 4 team and so i could mock morons who support sunderland and talk down on players better than any player they have.

Dont make me laugh.

United could easily get Fabiano for less than 20m.

Viva just prefers a goalscorer rather than a player like Tevez running around like a headless chicken

Thats exactly why it's not a gamble. Owen is fit, and has been for a while now, and he knows how to play with Rooney.

It's not a gamble at all really, since we got him for free

I dont think we should get Fabiano.

While his strike rate for Brazil is excellent it just simply isnt at club level.

Besides he's 28 and I think we could get someone younger.
