Tevez with owen is an improvement in terms of finishing. and thats what i want from a striker. especially if you take into account how much each would cost

Valencia may not be as good as ronaldo but he does somethings better like being a team player, his crossing and work rate.

Owen was free and Valencia cost like £15.7M?
There's still over a month left of the transfer-window, and with the way Madrid are bashing around like they own everything it's smart to wait it out until their intense period has cooled down a bit. That way every club won't use a "link with Real Madrid" as an excuse to inflate prices of players even further.

You don't know how much he has, all you know is the club said Fergie will get the money, however as anybody on here who has first hand experience running a business will tell you, things aren't always as they appear. Whilst they say Fergie will get all the money, I can guarantee you they'll be telling him that they don't want him to spend anywhere near that. Also, in business you look for the cheapest viable option. If I owned United I'd see Valencia and Owen as the main signings done and wouldn't expect Fergie to ask for more than another 20 mil tops.

But I'm pretty sure Fergie will yield alot of power in where the 80M will go, if he decides he needs it and has a plan on how to spend it wisely.

I'm quite sure they didn't plan to lose 2 players & to then straight swap them without looking at improving other areas of the team. Glazers first interest is the business side of things, but they'll know only full well that you have to spend money to accumilate money, to gain long-run success.

SAF will have changes he'll want to implement for the long-term vision of the team, which in this case would be replacing players at the twilight of their careers (Referring to Scholes, Giggs & VDS), since he's already covered the losses of players leaving. I imagine they'll give him 40M of it, but that does depend on who SAF wants to bring in, and how much they'd cost.

Last time Fergie spent 80M in the summer, they won the CL & EPL the season following, so he has a strong case to back.
