Oh deary me. The honest question I have is what now? Next season is going to be quite interesting. I'm trying to think of who else could possibly be bought at this stage. And seems like Madrid's snapped everybody up. You lot might as well pocket that 65m wait till January.

I know what you mean...it's a shame Wolverhampton went and snapped up Marlon Harewood on loan otherwise...problems solved

The Benzema deal wasn't make or break for us. I always knew he'd be Spain bound, and I think Fergie would of known that too.

I'm sure Fergies scout's have monitored young strikers across Europe, and probably for less then what Benzema would of cost. This could leave us more funds to spend elsewhere on the team, which I think we need to do, especially with Giggs/Scholes/VDS all at the twilight of their careers.

Least the Benzema issue is sorted now, and not on the 31st of August.

Yeah. Maybe they should look elsewhere in France. There always seems to be a lot of talent that goes unnoticed down there. Cavenaghi and Chamakh are two guys that pop into my mind. Could be good buys.

Theres plenty of talent out there, many which have potential near the level of Benzema's, just not as hyped.

Benzema didn't even finish top scorer in France Ligue 1 did he? So he's not the only striker out there with potential right now.

yeah in that exact interview he also said he prefers spanish football, as he finds it more attacking.

there is no doubt had madrid not made a bid benzema would be playing in the red of manchester but unfortunately madrid did make a bid thanks to their villa deal failing.

"Lyon accepted the decision of Karim Benzema and negotiated the conditions of a transfer which satisfy the various elements.

"The club wishes Karim the greatest success with Real Madrid."
at 21 i am not sure he made the right move

Valencia isn't like Ronaldo
hes not the type of a winger who likes to cut inside hes more like a faster version of Beckham

he likes to cross and hes a great crosser which i think we can make a good thing out of it if we get a striker whos passion is to score headers

also Valencia is more of a team player so you can easily see him being from our best assist makers

If that's the case wouldn't it be more sensible to play Macheda or Welbeck alongside Rooney?

We should buy a young goalie for the future since this is VDS last season. and those who say Foster is the future, i don't think he has that type of potential. United should look into this guy. at least watch a few mins.

I would be fine with Berba and Rooney up front, elegance and power combined would be lethal, just because he missed a penalty and doesn't run around as much as Tevez, does not mean he can't play football.

He often shows a quality touch when it comes to him, so just leave Welbeck and Macheda on the bench for now.

Dont worry United fans losing Benzema wasnt bad after all

8.52 Interesting line in The Guardian with regards Michael Owen. They reckon Manchester United are monitoring his situation carefully as they believe they could land the free agent on wages worth a piffling £40,000-a-week. With Karim Benzema off to Real Madrid and a lack of genuine alternatives, could Sir Alex turn to a player he was known to be keen on earlier in his career?

I'd be happy with a FIT Owen. I could see him get 20 goals for us, but that doesn't look likely though... You know.. That he'll get fit

EDIT: A fit Owen would be a last resort.

whats wrong with owen? getting him would mean berbatov and rooney can play alot of games and owen will just provide another option. his prone to injury wont affect us as much as we have berbatov and rooney and i am sure owen would not mind sitting on the bench abit for man utd.

if he can find anywhere near his best form then it would be a bargain. he is free and only £40k wages i think it might be worth taking the gamble. he was at newcastle at the end of the day where he hardly got any good service and he played deeper then he used to

It seems that the current trend for foreign footballers is to not play their football in England. I think this could be down to 3 reasons.

1. Tax is higher in England
2. The British weather is putting some players off
3. The risk of failing to adapt to the EPL like many foreigners have done before.
