i'd agree with that. he reminds me of saha without the injuries and he's got a good finish with both feet, i imagine him and rooney would make a great partnership. if there was ever a time to sign him, it's now, lyon want to sell him and i don't think real want him (this season) because of villa.

£30m to £35m should do it.

nope. we'd put him on a long-term contract, say 5-6 years.

and if we were to sell him at that time. we'd make a profit from him, no skin off our nose.

I would say, sign Benzema up asap, I don't want to let Benzema go just like we did with Torres, it will be a BIG mistake, Benzema and Rooney would be class.

You'd sign him up to a long term contact and then he'd want to leave and you'd have to sell him. Perhaps we've got different attitudes, but when I sign a player I want to know they'll be with us for aslong as we want them, not until they are bored.

You don't know anyone is going to stay with you long term, I don't get your point.

You can know a players attitude.

Benzema doesn't care about Manchester United, he cares about Benzema. He has a very similar attitude to Zlatan, whatever club he is playing for is secondary to himself.

Someone like Giggs, Scholes, Rooney, Touré, Clichy, those are players who you can tell care about their teams. I'm not saying they'd never leave, but they wouldn't just jump ship as soon as a better offer came along.

To be honest, the players that we lost so far this summer so far, we need a player that can be world class, he is that IMO.

I think you should have some faith in Berbatov, he could come good for you with a player behind him who is willing to do all the running (Rooney).

i get what you mean mate. but it's similar to ronaldo, we always knew he wanted to play for real at sometime in his career. we bought him, developed him into a great player who helped win us a lot of trophies and now he's gone for a great sum of money.

if the same happened with benzema, i wouldn't mind to be honest. but he's still young and he can easily change his mind if he settles in well with the club, who knows. but he's well worth a buy in my opinion.

I ws about to say maybe we should sign Llorente and he's just scored.

Just going over his record in Spain he has a striker rate of better than 1 goal in every 2 games, thats without a strong team around him too.

Torres versus Torres? Good idea.

(Full name: Fernando Llorente Torres)

Actually with the way Liverpool's finances are going, we probabaly have more chance of having two Fernando Torres' upfront.

Ronaldo says made up mind on Real transfer last year - Soccerway

Quote:
LONDON (AFP) - Cristiano Ronaldo says he made up his mind last year to quit Manchester United for Real Madrid, whom he has agreed to join for a world record 93 million euros, the News of the World reports in Sunday's edition.

Madrid courted Ronaldo all through last summer but the 24-year-old decided to stay and try to help United defend their 2008 Champions League title, featuring in their final loss in May to Barcelona.

Although United retained their English Premier League title, Ronaldo told the paper he decided to leave after the May 2007 final win over Chelsea.

"After we won the European Cup. I thought there is no more I can achieve here," said the Portuguese.

"And when you have done all you can, you know it is time for a new challenge. I stayed one more season and it was nice to make it three titles in a row but it was my dream to play for Madrid."

Ronaldo is reportedly set to earn 13 million euros a year with Real to become the world's highest-paid footballer once the finishing touches are put to his move but he insisted: "Of course, I have not gone for the money.

"To go down as the greatest. It will take lots of work but that is my target. If you go down as the greatest at Madrid it means you are one of the greatest of all time."

Ronaldo also touched on his antics in the 2006 World Cup, when he greeted the sending off of United teammate Wayne Rooney during his country's quarter-final win over England with a sly wink.

"Sometimes you do things because emotions are running high - but Wayne is my good friend," Ronaldo said.

"I can't regret it because I think the whole experience made me stronger.

"But looking back it was not the right thing to do and not something I would do any more."
