tired of you guys using this team online. Specially to the guys who have multiple accounts. [Removed by Smart - Not appropriate] Not talking to any real supporter but tired of the Man U online on match.

I intentionally dont pick the top sides but the tier underneath or lower.Even if someone pick a team from a league i dont know much about like MLS , ill pick an MLS Team to match but ive seen people picking the best sides no matter what.......i have a solution though if they pick Man U, you pick Man U or if they pick Barca....then they usually quit

I use united cause i support them and no one will stop me instead of moaning just dont play against them

When i pick Leeds and another player picks Man U, then ive beaten them already, if there not prepared to pick another team closer to your rating goes to show that he's an uncomfortable player. I Get scared more when a player drops to my rating.

unless the other player picks lower, then i match them

i dont see the problem of playing against united
i love playing them, easy to beat imo

Here's something I've noticed about team selection: as long as the stars roughly match up between the two teams, then what's infinitely more important is the skill of the person you're playing against.

And I'm not talking about rank points or skill level or any of that nonsense.

I'm talking about plain skill.

With most of my matches I can tell pretty much within the first minute of play whether or not I'm going to be able to beat my opponent. Some people are just poor players and you dominate them straight away, while with others you know it's going to be a very difficult match.

In other words, if a person chooses Man U. that actually tells me nothing - it's the person's skill that determines how difficult the match will be, not the team that they choose to play as.

Even if I choose to play as a three starred team, and my opponent chooses a five starred team, that still tells me nothing - if the person doesn't know how to play then I can still beat him.

And by the way, here's a little trick I've learned in the superb 5 Vs.5 online mode (probably only applies to the North American server though). If one of the teams is, say, England, and the other is Mexico, then choose to play with Mexico. Even if one of the teams is much weaker, but happens to be a Mexican club side, then choose the weaker Mexican club side.

Why?

Because Mexican players like to play as their own country, or as one of their club sides, and Mexican players really know what they're doing. In my latest five-on-five match, for example, I played with a three starred Mexican club side and we took on mighty Italy.

We, the club side, won 5-0.

So you see, it's not really the team that matters. It's the person (or people) in control of the team.

EDIT: The only disconcerting thing about playing with the Mexicans however is that you've got no idea what they're saying - unless you speak Spanish, that is. That said, the phrase: "You stupid moronic idiot how come you just missed scoring on an open net!" has a kind of ring to it that cuts through all language barriers.

I happened to get matched up to the same player 2 games in a row the other day, I played as Inter, he played as Barca, was an easy 3:0 to me.. Next game he chose Man U, I didn't come close to scoring, he won 0:1. It's not cos he played better and I played worse, Man U are just way beyond 5* in the game.

Yeah they werent bad back then, i still actually think there not bad on fifa08 to be honest, Beckford and Douglas are immense. For a 2 star.

Now leave me alone i need to go and cry about not getting our 15 points back lol.

I try to match the other team as much as possible. There are times when people choose downright bad teams which I can't even recognize from their team logo. Thats when I choose Stuttgart or Sao Paolo, Santos or Anderlecht.

Last night this guy who's record was 16W-58L matched up with me. He picked Standard Liege and I didn't realize which team it was. I chose Schalke. At roster selection I realized it was a mismatched game with a mismatched player. Anyway we started playing and he was a bad player. I scored 3 within the first 25 mins and at half time led 5-0. Then he started defending better but then I ended up winning 8-0. Note: none of the goals were from corners. In the end I felt really bad so I msgd him that it was a mismatch and we can play again and I will choose a lower team. He didn't respond as I expected! lol

I use Man Utd most of the time now(support them) when I first started playing online I would pick Grimsby Town FC but people still picked 5 star teams. What ever team my opponent picks I will match them.

I tend to let the other player pick their team first then base my selection off that most of the time i admit it does end up as a 5* battle i love playing with my favourite team Preston tho Neil Mellor is class

i play alot with barca. at the end of the day someone picks united, chelsea, five star teams, then i'm going to pick the same, i'm not going to pick less. one time someone tricked me by looking like they was going to pick a three star team, so i picked a three star team, clicked ready, and then the guy chose barca. i played the match, i could'nt be bothered to cancel the match because of that. luckily i beat him anyway.lol

The whole thing about picking Man U is nothing to do with supporting them its all to do with their speed and the AI bias on it.I played them for the 1st time ever the other night and just pressed the B button to let the covering defender help me out and he kept winning the ball without being directed , i didnt use the directionstick.They are also so quick when you press sprint, you dont need to use it when you play some teams as they are slow.If you use Patrice Evra on sprint then no-one can get away from him, its a complete cop out and should be remedied by EA
