Fix for playing online with XP

If you've been having trouble with logging into the game since the Microsoft update follow these instructions and it should fix the issue.

A) Find the file blank.html(just called blank) in the EASO dir of the game install.

(Should be in C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\FIFA 08\data\EASO\commonHtml

B) In there, copy the file blank and name it blankPage

c) i.e. you need the files blank AND blankPage

I have been trying to play my game online for the past 2months since i bought it, but to no avail even after installing all the updates.When i log in online a message pops up saying " YOUR MEMBER NAME AND PASSWORD ARE VALID.HOWEVER IT APPEARS THAT YOU HAVE NOT YET REGISTERED THIS GAME WITH EA SPORTS".When i click the link and accept the terms and conditions another page pops up but nothing happens.To add to the above i have already registered the game with EA when i bought and installed the game.I am yearning to play online.PLEASE HELP.

I cant understand why i cant play online, all it says its that theres a new patch i have to install, when I do that, it says that there no old files left.

I tried this fix, now when i enter the online matchup lobby (pc version) everyones avatar has a question mark and their details are blank.
I then uninstalled the last windows updates and its still the same.
Whats happened? How can I fix this?

I am having the same problem as I try to login online. It says it recognises my account but I still need to register my game even though I know it's registered. This is bull. |I am hoping the first comment thing may help. Anyone finds the answer...please post. I need my fifa fix.

i have something like this problems , i install the game ...install patches ...i have an account ...but when i try to enter in interactive leagues ...it says , that i did not install the patches...soo in what order do i install them , not 1,2,3 ? ....and...btw when i try to sign` in still says that i must validate my game...how can i do that ? i registered it .....

Just 2 days ago I was booted from the online servers and haven't been able to get back on. I have the North America digital download and after playing for 6 1/2 straight months it says 'user id and password are invalid. Check your network configuration file and re-try.'

I deleted the IExplorer update and created the blankPage and im having problems with connecting. I log in, and everythings good, until the SELECT SIDE screen, it loads forever then, i go back to the EA nation intro into the mainpage when it starts loading the Select Side screen. I dont know whats up? I had no problems when I first bought this game.

I can log on to the matchup lobby, I can create/join games but after the message "waiting for an opponent" has appeared and I'm at the loading screen waiting for the Select side screen to pop up, the "play online mode" just restarts and I'm back at where you log in. I can play maybe 1 out of 15 matches that I have joined/created, please help me!

I have read enough forums for the night,

My problem started as I log in fine but I connect to 5% of the games i try to join, its the black loading screen then it disconnects and am back to the home page.

I tried the blank page and uninstalling the windows explorer update.

now whenever i start a ranked game, either it disconnects immediately saying unable to connect or someone joins and back to the loading black screen with no hope.

its frustrating to play 1 out 10 times, I was wondering if there is any updateon the issue

hi if you r useing IE7 delite it does not work but iam useing pc version but can log in ok can go in the lobby ok but cant make a match up ea please fis it tthanks regards andycats0.

Same problem again. Login, Go to match lobby everything are perfect except after connecting, there is a black screen and go back to the login screen.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

This worked for me with Vista too.. I don't think it's just for XP...

I can log in but i cannot play online, it says i haven't downloaded the update file but all my player stats are updated. It says to open download manager and then open fifa to get the download. I do so n click yes but nothing happens to updates...at least i'm not aware of any...:-S
