Vbulletin looks like its going to be good for the forums.

The backgrounds too busy, i think the forums need to be abit more bulky - it seems miles away from the top of the page and miles inwards. Maybe a fatter forum is needed, im not sure.

Could the 'loading pleasantview' be changed to the sims 2 uk. Please leave the forums in this order! and keep all and create more - such as the much demanded diaries forum return.

The best solution would be to have a background depicting a giant Jaffa Cake. There - problem solved.

I dont like the fact that the forum skin suggests the forum is part of the EA forum.

The other forum backgrounds look better in my opinion. Probably because they aren't as busy, apart from the Command and Conquer forum.

Reading the forum will probably strain my eyes. A more clean cut and fresh background would probably make sure that people can read the information clearly and easily.

I also like the fact the forums are switching to v bulletin, like I've seen elsewhere.

I am really very unimpressed with the look of the new skin.

There is too much blue and the transparent forum template over the background is so unstriking.

Agreeing with Aaron, I would definately say at least some white would help. And the transparency would ideally go in favour of block colour.

Sorry to be all down about it.

I quite like the other skins for EA forums though. The main EA one and the FIFA ones are really pretty nice.

A baby blue and/or a light green background would be nice. Ive decided that the background isn't for me.

The masses have spoken. I'm glad you asked for our opinion first because there would have been big complains if that one went live!

Now Fluffy-Face, I love you, but I'm going to have to remove a limb of yours for that one. :P

Butbutbut the new diary system is lalalala! You wouldn't need to go in those forums.. you could just lurk around and mock people in the Chat Thread with me

Whoops. Off Topic. Ummm I think you can use avatars and sigs in vBulletin, or at least you can on the Nancy Drew official forums. However, you can only choose from a set gallery and you can't post images on the forum or in sigs.
However, the makers of Nancy Drew are so awfully frightened of getting sued that they daren't let anyone post pictures or make their own avatars in case it's inappropriate!
But I'm sure there's an option for it. Or at least I hope so. I like making sigs and avs

Whoops. Still Off Topic XD

Oh and I'm grateful they're asking us for feedback too. 'Tis much appreciated. <3

We are looking at the possibility of bring existing threads over (and archiving them) but they would be read-only unfortunately.

Er.

Looks like a community is going to lose a good chunk of its members after this.

A redesign and move to another forum would be fine, but forcing us all to use one huge forum and then destroying everything the members of this community have worked hard to create is, to me, unacceptable.

What is it? Doesn't EA have enough money saved up for multiple vBulletin licenses?

You won't be using one huge forum. The sub sections for each forum will still be in their places. Direct links to The Sims forums, will still be in place.

We will be reviewing some of the Sub forums shortly and of course, we will discuss that with you all.

I like PHPBB, i'm used to it now!

I agree with the comments about the background it's far too fussy. I like the style of this one where it's nice and clear and easy to read. Not all users are computer literate but this style makes it nice and clean and pretty easy to navigate around. Plus it's much easier for people like me who have very bad eyesight!

I would also remind about making it resolution friendly for people that use bigger resolutions. That caused a bit of a fuss the last time the forum style was changed.

Yes, but all communities are being merged, right? Or is that a misunderstanding?

I think I see what you mean. To be honest, that IS the plan right now but nothing is set in stone.

Before we do that, I will chat with the Product Manager, Claire. I am aware of the issues that might be thrown up if we were to merge.
