3. Madden NFL 07 (PS3)
4. Grand Theft Auto IV (PS3)
5. LittleBigPlanet (PS3)

It was hard narrowing the 30 or so games I have on my ign.com "Wishlist" down to 5 games...

I don't know how serious you're being, but I think that looks good.

Now I'm in the same position, wondering if you are being serious or not.

I was being serious. I noticed on the EA site early last year that they had a rail simulator in development, you can find a bit more info on it on the Play.com site, IGN site or Gamespot for screens.

It's been years since I tried a rail simulator (I just never got around to it) so I thought it would be good to try it out.

I'm a fan of transport related games, the majority of those I've played are strategy titles though (TT and then Locomotion from Chris Sawyer, Railroad Tycoon and then Railroads from Sid Meier being the main ones ... I'll still play Locomotion now, just ... because).

I played the MS Train Simulator but, like Flight Simulator, everything except the train models was very bland ... this looks different and I like the idea of creating your own scenery in-game.

... we're not going to be seen as train-spotter types for this, are we?

Ask my brother, he's a train-spotter and he plays those games. :P

The last one I played was a steam locomotive game, it's was very basic and just involved getting the train from A to B safely and keeping to the timetable etc. I can't remember what it was called but it must have been the late 90's, I enjoyed it though and just never got around to trying others.

With any luck we can show the British rail companies how it's done.

I bought my dad the Microsoft Train Simulator the other year and he was really pleased with it. It was quite good, but not my cup of tea (would rather drive a real train - steam train preferably).
