Default Type's mini guide to drag racing!

NOTE: THIS IS NOT A WHEELIE GUIDE THIS IS JUST FOR DRAG RACING!

The car!
Ok first thing DON'T BUY EXPENSIVE CARS! The reason for this is if you have a huge cralalalala just costs more to get it fixed. I have tried most carS for drag racing and think the eurpoean and japanese cars are not very good at all i always choose big old american muscle cars They're reasonably cheap and can be upgraded really well.

alxndr88 says:
when you complete the game 100% you don't get charged for repairs anymore... I've never paid for a repair =] ever...
the best cars are the zonda F, Camaro ss, GTO (new) and the supra. Other fast cars include the 350z, charger R/T, Chevelle SS and the Lotus Elise.

POWER!

Ok power is everything right? WRONG! if you have too much power you wont be able to control the car at highspeeds and the tracks are not very wide so watch it. A stage 3 car will do as good as a stage 4 car if you know what your doing.

alxndr88 says:
If you own at camaro ss or supra max both boosts but careful adjustment of the cam timing can increase your power by 1 or 2 bhp so its best not to max the cam timing. the cam timing shouldn't be maxed as it needs to match your gearing... whatever that may be. (camaro ss max left).
if you find yourself getting scared or the car going of of control reduce the end boost as its this one that destroys the car in that situation.

Tuning!

With suspension try and set your compression and tire pressure as high as you think you can (Practice with different settings) This gives your car less bounce when on some drags

alxndr88 says:

torque steer and instability can be reduced by stiffening the rear settings and keeping the front settings stock. tire pressure can be altered to induce under-steer (stiffen the front more than the back).
LEAVE the toe as this makes the car have slow acceleration and low top speed.
Caster can be set max left as you have enough grip and the camber can be altered as much as you want as the car shouldn't turn much anyway now lol
steering max left is what most people prefer as its more precise...

With engine setting i only really played around with the nitrous and turn the pressure and flow rate right the way up. Why do you need nitrous that will last 10 seconds if your 1/2 is over in 12?

alxndr88 says:

if your car is loosing control when you use nitrous take the flow rate down 5 clicks and to hold nitrous for a decent number of gears do this anyway. Maxing both of them makes the nitrous run out in 4th if you use it in the shift between 1st and 2nd with a sub 6sec car...

Drivetrain i didnt really do anything to this but i would recomend setting everything except 5th and 6th to quite low

alxndr88 says:
for most cars (supra, gto, zonda) set 1st max left and 2nd stock and then slowly build up the next few getting taller each gear.

Brakes? WHAT BRAKES WHO NEEDS BRAKES IN A DRAG RACE!
alxndr88 says:
Good. (LOL nice comment)

Hope you find my guide usefull please leave feedback and if you think i should change something please PM me.

you mean when pass 1st gear shift to 5th gear?? (not shift to 2 3 4th gear ???)

I use your former guide (apply 2nd suspension part instead of 4th part) -> use NOS between 1st - 2nd gear and shift simultaneous perfectly to 5th gear and drag 5th (not shift to 6th). That's give me a good result. (1/4 mile 5.87 sec).

The above phrase is true in the former NFS series. But now for Prostreet it's not so easy.
The rule is simple "The less time you do in race, the more score you get."
And so on "The more score you get, the more reputation you have."
Finally the more reputation you have, the closer for you to be STREET KING.

P.S. If you have a chance to see me in Prostreet online, I am Tonic Hawk sir.

might be easier to understand if you put the guide in this style:

"+" mean the right , "-" mean the left , "0" mean stock

Front shock compression rate : +7 to +10
Rear shock compression rate : +7 to +10
Front shock rebound rate : +7 to +10
Rear shock rebound rate : +7 to +10
Front spring rate : +7 to +10
Rear spring rate : +7 to +10
(above item should be compatible between shock compression , rebound and spring rate)
Ride height : -7 (Stability driving)
Front roll bar stiffness : +10 (Prevent more front weight transfer)
Rear roll bar stiffness : -3 (Allow weight transfer at rear , easy to powerslide at sharp curve)
Front tire pressure : -3 to -5 (improve contact path , improve traction)
Rear tire pressure : 0 +4 or -3 to -5 (if you want more oversteer set 0 to +4)
Toe : +3 to +6 (easy to turn but beware sway controlling in straight-line)
Camber : +10 (Improve outside tire more grip in corner)
Caster : +3 to +5 (easy to slide when pass narrow S curve but beware instaballity in straight-line)
Steer response ratio : up to you

Nice guide, but it'd look more professional if it was written in better English.

EDIT~alx, have you realised you've made up 400+ posts on NFS forums?

I used the cobal my first time because it was free. Hated it, should have took the civic. If your comfortable doing the drag races vs the CPU with it then why change? If its terrible for you like it was for me...go for something else, probably something RWD. Cheap and chearful id say so you can knock down the CPU. When you go online thats when you need to consider much much much faster cars.
