Default The Wheelie Guide

How do I Wheelie!?
Read the rest of this guide and hopefully, by the end of it, you will know how to Wheelie!

Does it matter which car I use?
No, not really, although some are better than others. Most RWD cars can Wheelie (as long as they have enough horse power and they're set up right).

How do I set-up my car for Wheelies?
All of the following should make your car better at Wheelies;
-Make sure you have enough horse power (600+ (although it is possible with less)).
-Install STAGE 3 Suspension; soften all of the Rear settings and stiffen all of the front settings (equally!).
-Install STAGE 3 Forced Induction; set CAM Timing full to "Advance", Start Boost as "High" as possible and End Boost as "Low" as possible.
-Install Nitrous Oxide; set Nitrous Pressure and Nitrous Flow Rate as "High" as possible.
-Set your Ride Height as "High" as possible.
-Shorten the first few gear ratios.
-Reduce downforce as much as possible (no spoilers!).

How can I get longer Wheelies without changing my set-up?
All of the following will help increase the length of your Wheelies;
-Get "Incredible" or "Max Grip" burnouts before the event to increase your 'grip'.
-Hit a perfect launch.
-Hit perfect shifts.
-Use your Nitrous Oxide as soon as you see your front end start to drop (usually in 3rd gear); it'll keep your nose in the air and your Wheelie going.
-Short Shift (be warned, this can make it harder to keep control of your car).
-Time does not matter -so don't rush!

Can you tell me a good Car (and Set-up) for Wheelies?
Yes! See this post (link).

Do you have something you'd like to add?
Discuss this guide (and Wheelies) and let me know if it helped you, etc. in this thread (link) and please, be sure to vote in the poll!

Default Can you tell me a good Car (and Set-up) for Wheelies?

Yes! The car I use is a Challenger R/T and I get 1250-1300ft every run (a 0% "Weak" Burnout will only get you around 1250ft, whereas a 100% "Max Grip" Burnout will get you around 1300ft). It practically Wheelie's itself (providing you have the following Set-up)!

This is the cheapest Set-up (total cost 116,900) I could find which still allowed the Challenger R/T to perform a Wheelie;

Car
Dodge Challenger R/T - 38,000

Performance Upgrades
Engine - STAGE 2* - 22,600
Drivetrain - STOCK
Forced Induction - STAGE 3* - 18,900
Suspension - STAGE 3* - 24,150
Brakes - STOCK
Tires - STAGE 2* - 8,200
Nitrous Oxide - STAGE 1* - 5,050

*Minimum required. Better Performance Parts will make the Wheelie easier (and quicker) to get into, but they're not necessary: this Set-up will see you through the game.

Tuning Settings
Suspension
-All Front settings toward "Soft" (three clicks to the left).
-All Rear settings equally toward "Stiff" (three clicks to the right).
-Ride Height set to "High" (all the way to the right).
-Toe, Camber, Caster and Steering Response Ratio are unmodified.
Engine
-CAM Timing set to "Advance" (all the way to the right).
-Start Boost set to "High" (all the way to the right).
-End Boost set to "Low" (all the way to the left).
-Nitrous Pressure set to "High" (as far right as possible).
-Nitrous Flow Rate set to "High" (as far right as possible).
Drivetrain
-Unmodified
Brakes
-Unmodified

This is how I do it;
-From the start - without accelerating! - shift into top gear (3rd) and then floor it.
-NOS when you reach 20mph* and it'll kick you up into a wheelie, which should last until the finish line. Easy.
*Only necessary if you're suing STAGE 1 NOS. Any higher and you can NOS immediately.

This is also a great way to get the "Clutch" Achievement (win 5 Drag events using Manual Transmission), too, because you can take as long as you want to change into 3rd gear at the start and, as the car only has 3 gears, you don't need to do anything else for the entire race (other than 'keep the pedal to the metal'.
