With an unforeseen and almost after midnight statement, Dimitris Drosos puts an end in his presence in PAOK because of a very serious health problem that he is facing. As he invoked in his written statement in order to declare his resignation from the position of the chairman of B.C. PAOK and creating the same time lots of questions for the team’s future, while up to this moment there is no information or clarification.

In his statement Dimitris Drosos reports the followings…

When god sees as drawing the future laughs…
Unfortunately the course of my health DOES NOT allow me in any case, despite of how much I want it, to continue leading a team as big as PAOK.

Respecting the history, the requirements but also the logic that no one is eligible to process a position in which he cannot correspond completely, wanting to protect myself but MAINLY the team from whoever will want to exploit my weakness to watch everything closely during my long absence in the abroad at the next months, I am forced to submit my resignation from the extremely honorary position of the chairman of B.C. PAOK, I already did the same for the chairman position at my enterprising group.

The battle I have to give is VERY BIG and VERY DIFFICULT and deprives from me the opportunity to give to the people what they saw in me and what they deserve. …A CHAIRMAN WHO WILL HAVE THE SAME PASSION and who will give 101% of himself for the team.

Unfortunately for me, although it is my enormous wish to correspond in this, my health situation, prohibits it expressly.

My course in the Greek basketball finishes abruptly and painfully for me, probably in the beginning of the most beautiful journey from those I’ve made. ALWAYS in any team I was I gave 100% of me but now, while being in PAOK I realized for the first time in my life that there are IDEAS and PEOPLE for which even these percentage is too small according to what they deserve.
NEVER in my whole life I didn’t declare that I was born fan of any of the team’s that I led but henceforth I declare in the MOST CATEGORICAL WAY that I will die as a fan of this team that loved me and which I loved so much fast and so much intensely. I AM AND WILL BE PAOK’S FAN and ONLY PAOK!

I hope that even the worst intentioned judges of me will respect this statement of mine and will NOT involve my name in any script or any other story that has anything to do with other teams and any other explanation.

If they do not want to respect everything I tried to offer to the Greek basketball up to today, let them respect every person’s right to give his personal battle as calmer as possible.
The time period that I stayed in PAOK as a chairman may have been minimal, but I think I’ve made some things that others, who remained for years haven’t, I’ m referring to the fact that in summertime it seemed like the team needed a miracle on order to continue without suffering the humiliation of demotion in categories that have no relation with the team’s history.

Today the team not only is not in danger of falling apart, but with the people’s help, Mr. Amoiridis and mine, acquired dynamic again, appreciable roster and most important has programmed and regulated wounds and obligations of years that until today are observed in full in such a timetable that is feasible to any serious investor not only to observe nut also to materialize in such level that it will allow to give to PAOK fan’s what they deserve… ASTARRINGPAOK.

What however is henceforth evident and the most important of all, is the fact that now THERE IS TIME for everything to be done, something I never had.

I’m proud for everything I did, even for every mistake I may have made, since they were made under time pressure, and mainly about the fact that everything was made considering the team’s benefit and never for our personal profit.

I’m also proud for the fact that the love and the support of the people, for the first time for years turned to the team and not the wallet of some factors!

Unfortunately I did not accomplish to find a final solutions, but time, vision and bases for such a solution have definitely been given. Now it is up to the people to protect all that have been made, but it is also the last mission I have… NOTTOLETALLTHOSE GETLOST…

Problems exist and there are enough and serious but the team and the effort that has been started will be protected and will continue because henceforth the river IS NOT TURNING back and the bases EXIST…

The people henceforth owe and I believe they will stand even closer to this team and they will give to the team the strength to continue substituting even my absence. The team now needs them more than ever, and with them by its side has nothing and nobody to be afraid of!

At the end I want to remind to the people of PAOK who loved me and cares about me that the team’s motto is…

YOU ARE PAOK AND YOU ARE NOT AFRAID… and I as a member of this team at the beginning of my personal adventure observe it in full… I’M NOT AFRAID and I will deal with all that comes as a genuine PAOK fan …WITHOUT TRACE OF FEAR!

HEY i didn't know a PAOK basketball thread existed

haha well i don't really follow basketball section but Greek league is too much unbalanced between PAO, Olympiakos and rest of the teams (including PAOK)

BTW RM beat Panathinaikos at Vistalegre 80-70 or something like that.

Panathinaikos won't be UE champions again, i expect Barça to win it

In addition I play basketball much more than football but i'm just interested on NBA, ACB and Euroleague, don't really follow any other European league
