Right I have been looking around this forum for over 6 month and there are a lot of people having the same problems. I have created this guide to help those who can't get the game to run or to ask questions about their hardware.

BEFORE you buy a new game ALWAYS make sure that your computer can run it. It's pointless buying a game, taking it home and trying to run it on a computer made in the stone age.

Mirror's Edge Minimum Requirements:

O.S: Windows XP SP2 or Windows Vista

Processor: Intel Pentium 4 (3ghz, it says 2.4ghz but thats not good enough) or Intel Dual-Core 2.4ghz or equivalent brand.

RAM: 1GB is minimum.. (Reccomended is 2GB.)

Graphics: NVIDIA 7800GTX+ or ATI x1300+ Video Card or better.

DirectX Version: 9.0.. (only if your card doesn't support 10.0)

This game will not work with Windows 7.

Why won't it run?

Is your processor good enough to run it? Just because you have a dual-core means NOTHING. A Celeron can't run a single program over two processors but an Atom will. You can only run ONE program on ONE processor, or TWO programs on TWO processors... You can't run ONE program over TWO processors.. It dont work like that. So please make sure the if you have a dual-core that the speed of ONE processor is over 2.4ghz NOT both total 2.4ghz.

Is your graphics card good enough? Now this game is a little hit and miss with graphics cards. A Nvidia 7800 will run this fine BUT a Nvidia 9200 will not run it. When looking at numbers in the Nvidia range take this into mine.
7800... 7 is the series of card. It is not much to worry about when your into the 7's 8's and 9's.

The 800 is the version of the card. The higher the number the better. This game will not run on anything lower than a 6 (in the 9 series).
SO 7800 is a good older card, but a 9200 is a lower end new card and not as good.

I get a error... Well this isn't a good thing but all it can be down to is hardware being too slow to let this game run.

Problems in-game?

My graphics is all washed out.. Well there are quite a few options here. I serached the forum and found this. It seems to help a lot better than me trying to explain it to you. LINK

My graphics are all choppy and laggy... This can be caused due to the PhysX. Try turning it off and see if that has it working. If not then please check out this link

On Chapter 3:Heat Faith's walking not running... That is what you get if you downloaded the illegal copy. To fix this problem, take a bus, walk or drive to your nearest game store and buy the game. You pick up the game for about £10 pre-owned.

That is as much as I can think of at the minute I will update with more when I find some.

I have only ever played on the console (360 tbh) and I made this for stupid people who try and make their 5 year old computers run a high spec game.

hey im having a big problem. When i try to load up the game it says i am missing stlport.5.1.dll now i have looked for ages all over the internet looking for a frikin answer to this problem i cant find it on .dll websites and the only thing i have come up with is a stlport.5.1.lalalalawnload for windows mobile 5.0 this obviously dosent work since im using a computer. Believe me i have deffinetly got the minimum requirements for the game so if anyone could give me some usefull advice it would be much appreciated.

Try and re-install the game. If it's missing the reinstall should find and replace it.
