Hello fans of Mirror's Edge,

my name is Alexander Linhart better known as NxSG (music producer). I'm composing an unofficial soundtrack for the upcoming "Mirror's Edge 2" (to make the waiting time shorter

It doesn't really feel... Mirrors Edgey. I always thought that the Mirrors Edge music was calming, this seems jazzy.

It's still good though, I just don't think it fits.

What program do you use? I love music too, see.
I like it, but it doesn't quite...fit?

The intro sound like the prelude to an area Faith has to escape from.
The piano is calming, like when Faith is climbing/jumping to a destination.
Then you've got the jazzy/techno (sorry, don't know the term

that doesn't fit in any situation!

just a sugestion, but why don't you take individual situations and compose to that mentality like, a puzzle over rooftops - calm with a soft beat in teh background, or a more aggressive situation, where faster music and beats are needed. Also, try to stick to a simple tune - think about Still Alive, and how it was used in the other songs in ME.

BTW, I like your 'deadman is alive' song"

Oh, and could you do your music in MP3 format? I'm not a member of youtube, but i'd like to download your music!

But keep on it

I'd like to see more of your music!

First of all I don't want to copy the style of the original soundtrack or make something similar (it's NOT my way to make music). I just want to give You an alternative score

. This is my style - this is how I'm composing my unofficial soundtracks, but I fully understand You.

The jazzy/techno sound is for the speed feeling - the piano/choir part is for the flying moments and/or movie scenes. The first track should be only a Main Theme (everything together

).
I'll compose tracks for every possible situation, as I did in my Half-Life 2: Episode Three soundtrack f.e..
The next track will be ambient and third one orchestral - I guess, it's the same thing, that You meant in Your comment.

Mp3's - I'm sharing my music for free (I'll post the link to my whole ME2 soundtrack here, after I finished it), but normally I'm giving links only to my subscribers on YouTube - this is my only requirement. So if You'd like to have my music, just register on YT and subscribe me there, please.

@Inversio: I must say, the beginning didn't sound much like Mirrors Edge, but when I got into it (At around 0:50) it was very Mirrors Edge. ****

@This Is Love: It's good, but after around 30 seconds it get's really repetative, I also can't see where it would be used in Mirrors Edge, could you tell me what it's intended for? ***

@Life Is Nothing Without The Speed: Ah... This is very Mirrors Edge, but again I can't see where it could be used, could you tell me where? ****

whoever reads this it would be a good idea because ive heard that are going to higher the prices and that is not good because it's already a lot of money to spend on a computer game so, best to either get it now or order it now. Whatever you do do it fast before it's to late. Anyway more about the game. The game keeps all young children like ourselves occupied and keeps us out the way. I love it and it's the best game that's ever come out before. So, HURRY

How do i put this...WOW! might suffice!

Just a suggestion, but i think it would be nice if you used clips from ME and put your music to it, such as LINWTS (life is nothing without the speed) with clips of Faith running, or running away from PK units, ect. That would show your point, i think, in what you envision the songs to be used for.

I love Dont Try To Fight you're Destiny! so complex and simple at the same time - absolutely masterful! This is my favorite, but LINWTS came very close.

Life is nothing without the speed - very good for a chase scene, and what's good is that i can imagine this playing in the background whilst playing ME - the style fits (IMO)

This is love - yup, sounds like a cutscene/flashback song, or a credit song, as it is very peaceful. Very soft, almost fragile. yet with a trace of mystery/sadness. Did you put some kind of chimes in @ 3:34 - 3:36, aprox? If you did, it sounded very nice!
However, I'm not so fussed on the song transition half way through - it would have made a nice epilogue, that piano bit, but i think that the rest of the song was unnessacary - you'd already made your point!

Dreams will wake you up - I applaude your skill, i really do, but this one didn't, i don't know, strike me? I liked it, but it was a bit repetitive, prehaps a counter-melody on a higher synthetic instrument would have been nice? I think what i'm trying to say is a bit more variety, in pace and melody.

. I'll make a contest for all my listenrs on YT - "The best clip to one of my soundtracks", we'll see how many people would like to be a part of it.

About the "Dreams Will Wake You Up" - it should be just a track for loading screen, that's why I composed it simple.

Am I falling down? - I really like this, its really relaxing. I have no idea on what you could improve on! What was your idea on what it could be used on? I was thinking a tutorial level or a 'get from A to B' level - pure running and jumping.

I would like to do some movies to your music, if you don't mind. My computer strugles with movie maker, and i'm only an amature, but i'd love to try. I just gotta find some footage now, since i dont play on PC. I'll ask Armageddon, who did a 'lets play' of ME if i can use his video's (he has 11 of 8 mins each, aprox) I'll have a look around

Cant STAND the main theme !! The quirky sync line that repeats and kicks at 0.41 on the youtube vid is really anoying to me

The break down at 1.00 is however much more along the lines for me... just dont like that sync loop AT ALL

But the rest really has caught Mirrors Edge pretty damn perfectly ! Respect to that man, even tried playing it off my lap top while time trialing and it syncs beautifully
Keep plugging them see if you cant get EA to show some interest ??

Am I Falling Down? would be great for a level that wasn't even getting a package somewhere. No cops no choppers just flow. And it would be like when you burst out of that door in Chapter 3 and you see the whole city. I'm gonna' make a video and it should be done in like a week tops. I'll post it somewhere

The quirky sync line that repeats and kicks at 0.41 on the youtube vid is really anoying to me The break down at 1.00 is however much more along the lines for me... just dont like that sync loop AT ALL But the rest really has caught Mirrors Edge pretty damn perfectly ! Respect to that man, even tried playing it off my lap top while time trialing and it syncs beautifully Keep plugging them see if you cant get EA to show some interest ?? No cops no choppers just flow. And it would be like when you burst out of that door in Chapter 3 and you see the whole city. I'm gonna' make a video and it should be done in like a week tops.
