Mirrors edge crash fix

READ ! You need to have the 1.01 patch installed

First you have to locate your TdEgine.ini in your :

C:\Documents and Settings\*****\My Documents\EA Games\Mirror's Edge\TdGame\Config\

Open the file and search for FloatingPointRenderTargets
Change its value from "True" to "False"

Okay , we got that settled. Now , run the game from the Binary folder ( MirrorsEdge.exe <-- Not the shortcut you've probably made on the desktop )

If the game crashes after the logo , keep trying , it will load , sometime .
After it loads , go into settings :

Video Settings

640x480
Everything else to Lowest and Off

Save the settings , then start a new game or load your save ( Loading a save file will probably crash the game when loading , I suggest starting a new game )

Yes, you are IN the tutorial , now , the game has absolutely no chance of crashing anymore . Quit the tutorial , load the desired video settings , load the desired chapter , voila .

This may seem stupid . I have probably tried EVERYTHING , only this worked for me . It took me days to figure it out .

DON'T FORGET TO MAKE A COPY OF THE TDENGINE.INI AFTER YOU APPLIED THE CHANGE !

This way you'll be able to replace the TDENGINE everytime you want to play Mirrors Edge .

Edit : If you were wondering why you needed a copy of the TDENGINE , its because the value of "False" automatically changes to "True" when you change the video settings to Lowest .

I think it's stupid that you need these kinda things for games to work on PCs nowadays. I mean, I'm a console gamer, and do you see me having to have manual patchs or having my games crash alot? I think it's a shame, really...

yy ok...i may was very extreme and bad so soz....!!if you wanna report me go ahead i dont mind...i can do what i want to do and if they bann me i will be back again after 5-10 minutes but thats not the thing..!!you see consoles are expensive and console games are too expensive!!and not all of us has enough to buy!!

EDIT:Ok I found it out, but now I'm trying to opening it from there but I keep crashing no matter how hard I try. UGH IM SO CLOSE BUT YET SOOOOO FAR.

I'm trying your fix in regards to the problem where the game crashes to the main menu and restarts at a previous checkpoint. I'm assuming that was the crash the thread is talking about.

So far I've followed your instructions to the letter up until the point you have to restart the game from the binary folder:

"If the game crashes after the logo , keep trying , it will load , sometime . "

I've tried starting it twenty times now with it always crashing at the logo. How many times did it take you until it "eventually" started?

I'm losing hope. Every instance of this problem on the forums that I've read so far, has no solution.

every time i tried modding a file and then starting the game, it said the file was corrupt

I also have this problem although it is interesting to note; i was in the game, in the main menu at least, and i was ready to play but my comp overheated and when i restarted i couldn't even start the game, hell i still cant start the game. what a waste of money. so how many times did you have to open mirror's edge before it finally worked?

I am running this through Steam. Anyone know where I can find this. BTW do they need to release a PhyX patch for Windows 7, because the game barely runs with it on.

ME is not designed to play on a windows 7 computer.

All I can suggest is that you downgrade.
