More "blues" on the way... Confusion

This has confused me when playing the game. When they refer to the "blues", they are talking about the police yea? Are they in any way connected with the different colors that appear through out the game? Is there different levels of police (yellows, oranges etc.) or are the colors that appear through out the game just part of the game. This confuses me.

your thinking to hard and you havnt gotten through the first few lvls...all the police are refered to as blues

yeah i was about to edit that post but i had to go...but eh i got the reference pretty quick...ive watched alot of old time movies where they called the cops either pigs or blues...i personally like blues alot more bcuz of how it just rolls off the tongue...BL-UE
