Default DLC installer doesn't recognize game installed through steam.

I downloaded the Mirror's Edge DLC this from the EA store, but my copy of mirror's edge was purchased through Steam. Now when I try to install my DLC, the installer tells me that my game is not properly install. Anyone have a fix for this?

Thanks,

Boson

this is just me but when did you buy the DLC bcuz a couple days ago here was a post by someone mentioning that the DLC doesnt work with the Steam version of the game...so heres my opinion in the matter...go out and get some fresh air...take a walk or drive or a bike, plane, etc. to your nearest game store and buy a physical copy of the game...that way if there are ANY problems with the game you have a physical copy of the game you can work with and even a physical receipt...not to mention you can get your money back with a physical copy or even trade it in for cash/credit

for the record the physical copy of ME doesnt need the disc....for the record also, neither does Dead Space....love both those games so much...great work EA and also Dice for ME

I dont think buying a second copy of this $50 game is really a viable option. Also steam allows for infinite reinstalls without having to keep track of anything, whereas EA has a habit of limiting installs or making you pay extra in order to be able to download the game again. If it's true that the DLC is not compatible with the Steam version, I will get EA to refund my purchase. Things like credit cards make it easy to get your money back if a product doesn't function.

So what is your helpful advice then? If you read the beginning of the post, Boson2 like others have purchased the game from Steam already. Getting a refund from Steam is not possible, so what are you suggesting? Going back in time?

Yeah he didn't give any useful advice, and four days later, EA still has not responded to my open support ticket. Great customer service right there.
