It is a game where you can explore the environment fairly freely and are not stuck having to complete objectives in a set order.

"Sandbox games" allow you to explore and interact with the world without actually having to attempt or complete the game's objectives. Burnout Paradise and Grand Theft Auto IV are two good examples of this, yes.

I'm really looking forward to Mercenaries 2: World in Flames, too.

i don't think there is armies this time, but if there is, my bet is on the UN, Venesualans and russians, along with the armies of a few neighbouring countries. however, a definite faction is the pirates, who aren't an army.

your best bet is to check the website

guys, more news...

the map in the game will be around 8 squared km big...
the game will be released on the PS2 as well...
tanks can't get stuck up trees this time...
and the xbox 360 isn't the only console with online capabilities
