As far as I know I'm sure MYM will continue to run. So far I don't think anything has been a problem. If anything it's helped FIFA Gamers in the UK meet each other in events.

Online Fifa Leagues | Stryxa

Now according to them these are the official online leagues for Fifa 2010 aiming to find the national champion with 10k of prizes. Already advertised in the NOTW, and the home page already looks more professional than MYM.

You then have FIWC which finds the official offline champion and the set up is far better than MYM offline events.

So where exactly does MYM fit into all this, other than a one and a half 10v10 teams.

Hi Guys,

Firstly Stryxa.com doesn't yet have an agreement with EA to be an "official" league but we will be having talks with them to see what their plans are and how we may be able to work together.

MYM was an official EA project and we are currently looking at options for FIFA10 but nothing has been confirmed yet.

FIWC is a project in partnership with Sony exclusively for the PS3 and is a global event with qualifiers in a host of different countries with pre-qualifiers and national qualifiers both online and offline so a very different offering.

Thanks.

It means MYM in the whole is a good concept but it was not successful. Gaming and technology has advanced in such a way that there is virtually no difference between playing online and offline with the exception that you will attract 100,000s more people online compared to a handful offline and its a hell of a lot cheaper.

Just look at MYMs most successful threads online 10v10. MYM offline was a flawed and dated concept from the beginning. Poor decision making poor advise or both.

EA are clearly going to build or have built an online version of MYM possibly called something different remember who you heard it from. To not do that would be plain right stupid to do it does not require you to be a genius. Its a tried and tested concept by many games not just football.

EA are a shrewd company with a good business model and aggressive marketing strategy just look at how they marketed 360 degrees movement as the next innovative step in football gaming. Those with developer experience - i did some before I teached - knew it would make nothing more than a subtle difference, but people bought it because EA threw thousands of pounds at it. They will probably do something similar with the next MYM. I hope its something far better than what MYM currently is and I hope it involves new management.
