Meet Your Match, a brand new (free!) service for the UK FIFA 09 community, has quietly hit the big scary Internet and we’d like you to check it out.
Meet Your Match is dedicated to bringing FIFA 09 players together offline to face each other in live competitive action. It’s all about the real world, and with events taking place regularly all over the country, you should never be short of a place to showboat your skills. Check it out now at www.eafootballworld.com/mym Log in to the site using your usual Football World details and you’ll be able to browse a range of organised events, each one hosted and managed in selected venues. Find an event that suits you and, assuming there are still spaces free, you can sign up to attend at the click of a button. More tournaments and locations will be added over time, and they will feature a range of game types, from solo play to 10 v 10 team play and everything in between. Talking of team play, you can also use the site to create and manage your own team of star FIFA players! The site will be the place to come to see results from all the tournaments, as well as being regularly updated with news and articles from key events. It will also track your performances. The more events you attend and the better you do, the better your standing on the Meet Your Match leaderboard. The site is still beta, though, so we’d love to hear what you think. |

Actually, if you click the link above right now, it probably won't work. We're having some sort of tech-based wig-out on Football World at the the moment. Should have it resolved shortly, but until it is, use this fella: EA - Meet Your Match.
EDIT: we're up and running again now... Last edited by EA_Rom; 30-10-2008 at 12:04 PM.. |

Hi all,
My names Matt and I am the Head Event Manager for MYM. Just to let you know there are alot of plans for the coming season and there will be a healthy batch of offline events taking place throughout the season. I have already recruited a number of venues across the Uk, that will be hosting monthly events and I look forward to hearing your views regarding them. As Gregg has mentioned MYM is an offline only event.... but what we are going to do to help keep interest in the community is set up an area for players to run some 10 vs 10 friendly online events.... and also get some interactive leagues on the go to keep the interest up in between events. Look forward to seeing you at some of the events

Brilliant, hope one of the venues is the Metro radio arena or something similar in Newcastle

I am looking for venues that have consoles in place (PS3 or 360) and they have an internet connection. If they are suitable, then I will do my to get them on board

just - a quick hi from me guys!!! I'm one of the event managers for MYM.
(and a disapointed Arsenal fan at the moment - but that's another story), but hey - that's football and that's why we love this game!!!I've made the transfer from PES to fifa this year!!! "Meet your Match" is gonna take off - so keep checking back here for news and updates regarding online/offline events covering 360 and PS3. so keep practising

Constructive as ever smeltz
, Na-can't really think of a big enough venue really that has their own consoles and an internet connection. Maybe some zavvi stores but they usually only have the one console of each. What about Sunderland smeltz? Don't mind making the trek into enemy territory-think I've recovered from the last time now
