rising sun singapore sling

hi everyone ,this is my first post on here
i am playing rising sun on the xbox and enjoying it up till now
i am in the hotel and i have killed every one upstairs ,came down the stirs again killed everone i could find so only me alive ,but when i get into the ballroom the kitchen door wont open
i'm getting a bit bored walking round and round getting nowhere ,is there a switch to open the door or something i havn't done ?
any help would be appreciated
