Default MOH H2 Wii Multiplayer - Pros in Noobs games

As a relatively new player (and one who needs a lot of practice against people of a similar rank) I find it annoying that in games clearly titled as "noob/newbie only" there are frequently non-noobs playing in an attempt to boost their rank with easy pickings. I've seen people who are ranked in the Top 10 on the leaderboard with a couple hundred hours of playtime under their belt in "newbie only" games. Not very sporting.

Default Agree...

Completley agree with you, very annoying when you are wanting to learn, if you keep getting wiped out straight away it just puts you off.

I agree with mankysheep im getting fed up getting wiped out every 5 secs by pros like Linksoul etc they obviously must practice lots. I also found when i recently started a game i was invincible!! dont know how it happened must have been a glitch in server or something anyways maybe see u in Port (my personal fav)

Default A few tips for Noobs

Guys, I believe there should be a lot more posts on how to do better. I spent ages trawling the net and for every tip I found on the web I found about twenty from people blaming hackers and other things when in fact it was their inexperience. Dont get me wrong there are hackers but for the most case its down to experience and the following.
  1. Firstly know your ground and where snipers hang out. They will slaughter you until you get to know the maps. If you do snipe to get practice cause your a noob kill and move position cause youre position shows to the person you just killed and whether its capture the flag or TDM if its someone like me your chance of surviving as a noob with a sniper rifle is somewhat limited when taking on experience and an automatic weapon.
  2. Get to know the weapons. The automatics respond like the real thing and tend to pull up so dont waste ammo on huge bursts.
  3. If you do want to use an automatic I found I had more success with the bar and stg44 as they seem to copy the real thing and allow slower but more accurate firing over a longer distance without the disadvantages of the sniper rifles. When running across the field in the open in the village with the stg44 I now find it easy to take out snipers at long distances yet still find it as effective as the fully automatics at close quarter battle.
  4. Watch your team. You can always spot a noob cause when a group runs down in the sewer everyone stops when they see a team mate throwing a grenade the noob keeps running and gets blown up.
  5. Learn about the lag factor. Notice how you see a lot of people who dont die easily moving quickly left right up and down. A lot of them know about the lag factor in the game and are relying on you shooting where they are at that time rather than you anticipating where they will be next. When shooting out in the open don't shoot directly at the enemy learn how far ahead to shoot depending on the distance and how fast they are moving. Whether its in the design or down to the network speed its cool cause thats what happens when shooting at a target with a real gun thats moving.
  6. In between games etc look at the score board and see who on your team does well. Note the weapon they use then follow them and see how they use it.
  7. Keep away from bazookas. Once you get experienced you can take them from behind but as a noob you've no chance.
  8. Practice with your grenades or you will die a lot. I used to die quickly when I started when i turned a corner and saw five enemy looking at me. Things changed a lot when I practiced this. Retreat and usually all will follow you. With your thumb hit left then hit forward to lob not throw a grenade. It should kill some do the same again for those you missed. You wont see it but a lot of the others will be stunned to the point where you can now go forward and kill them with one shot to the body.
  9. Practice, practice then practice some more. Don't worry about hackers etc the experienced will spot them quickly and vote them off. The only difference between you and the experienced ones playing is that the experienced ones know the controls to the point where its second nature.
  10. Finally don't get hung up on ranking. Who really cares. For a while now I've been creaping up but have a long way to go to make up for my long learning curve. I could have created a new profile but who gets noticed more the player who skulks around taking easy kills and ranks high or the player who averages out but has everyone covering him cause they see he's the one who keeps capturing the flag and trust me you cant go into a 32 player game in the sewers and capture most of the flags without dying a few times.
  11. Dont be predictable. When I'm playing capture the flag my favourite trick is to hammer at one area say the open in the village. Soon the enemy all come running out to the same spot time and time again. This leaves areas clear for a clear run at the flag or alternatively I then switch to sniper rifle and take out a lot easily allowing the rest of the team to run on mass to drop in grenades into the barn while they all respawn and capture the flag without too many worries.
I hope that helped. My goal is that hopefully knowing a few tricks will get more people playing more often and for longer rather than on the many forums that hackers and the many other excuses must be the reason they find it so hard when actually they just need a bit of help and loads of practice.

Hopefully see you all online at the weekend,

Fully

at the end of the day, you can stop pros coming into the game by making it non-ranked

personally I think it is good to have a few pros in the noob games because if your not very good then you can watch the pros and learn what they do in matches and use that to help you improve. when I first started playing I learnt by following the best player in the match and using them for protection whilst I practised and I have now become one of the best players in europe.

You could make a non-ranked game, Most ''pro's'' joining unranked is low, Unless they are looking for some practice.

tsk tsk ...pros in noob games !!!

To be fair ...it's really unfair . I mean the newbs go into those servers specifically to get to grips with the game and then in muscles some "pro" and completely ruins it for them . Its true that playing with better players will improve your game but you should be allowed to make that choice and not have some rank junkie using you as cannon fodder .

Most of the truly good players seek out the games with the best players in to be honest . I know a lot of the top players in this game and they mainly play amongst themselves , but there are people in the top 100 who you never see in the "elite" games because they're too busy hunting newbs .

Default Hey Gen Mojo

Hmm a name I recognise.

Did you notice......today I made it (finally) into the Top100?

Weaponsboard turned out to be the biggest thing...strange that getting on a list should be so important eh?

Been knocking around the T100 for seemingly ages, so I guess that's why it was a bit of an anti-climax.

By the way - what the hells been going on with sonofahfox - fragging team mates, making enemies, having to keep switching teams.......bizarre.

He fragged me for doing a sniping session....like as if he's the guy making the rules!

If your reading this fox - what's going on man?

As for noob killing.

Yeah the prob is that noobs haven't studied the map build prog, to choose unranked game.....simple as that.

If they set up a game called noobs then they can just as easily set it to be unranked.

If they don't, then they are fair game like all of us.

Sorry guys, but that's how it is, cos thats the actual rules, and not some "let's play it like this" rules.

What do you think General.............?

Sure there are "on the fly" rules for ad hoc clans in DM's but these really only apply to known players amongst themselves.

As for the previous good advice post......I'd just pick up on one thing:

There aint no hackers as far as anybody knows......it's just server glitches that give invincibility, or wrong uniform.

Other than that.......concentrate on the head, whilst moving around.

Do this and get good at it.........then you'll be ready for the next version set in Afghanistan, or CoD5.

Default Hi Oli

The answer to whats wrong with SonOf is... he was caught nad spamming in a CTF server (Cue the benny hill music... reload station then up the stairs to nad spam then back down the stairs more nads then back up the stairs... you get the pic). tbh it was so funny watching him on death cam (thats y i walked into his nads to get a birds eye view btw).

P.s

sonof has the wiitalk admins in his pocket if u kno what i mean oli

Hmmm yes I posted up a new thread relating to how EA could easily change its algorithm to reflect who the actual best players are. Why did i post it:

1. Top ranked players getting negative scores in the real games and you all know what I mean by real games lol.
2. Players claiming they are great cause they can go into games with a strong attack and sit back with a sniper rifle picking off whats going on where the real speed of reaction is going by the enemy's flag where you have to take on several at once and dodge grenades.
3. Players who boast but youll only ever see do well in one map cause thats the only place they can hack it.

Guys everyone whos good apart from a couple talks these days and if you fall into any of the above trust me it sticks out like a sore thumb and you get laughed at.

Do me this favour think of a top player then think when was the last time you saw them running back with a flag? Anyone can take the easy kills but you need to realise everyone sees it and everyone chats in the main chat boxes. Fighting in the rear and up to midway is easy but charging through the enemy on their ground taking out several on the way in and serveral on the way out gets you noticed and respect.

To me EA's current system of ranking is rubbish as justified by the amount of negative scores by top players in hard games with an overall unbelievably high score/rank, or maybe im wrong and they were just happening to have a bad day every time i saw them play hmmmmmmmm.

Problem is guys everyone chats these days and everyone knows who you are. Thats the problem with achieving top dog all the other dogs suddenly start watching you and notices if youre not quite as good as youd like everyone to think you are!

lol @ MOHPlayer ...haha ...We obviously know each other don't we ...in fact i'm pretty sure I know who you are. Why don't you just pm me on Wiitalk if you have an issue with me or Sonof , instead of making stupid names on the EF chatbox and making random posts like that ^^^

Grow some "nads" man ! (btw , you're the only one who says "nads" , check yoyr wiitalk posts )

For the record , I moderate the MOHH2 sections on Wiitalk and Sonof gets the same treatment as anyone else !

What a bizarre statement """MOHplayer"""

Anyway sorry to throw this thread off.

What the General says is correct dudes visit their site they make you feel welcome. If you get annoyed with anything ask them and get them to give you it from their side. They deserve that! You'd be surprised how often things you think are one way are totally different. I've played with and against Sonof more times than I can remember and he doesn't deserve to have stuff stated like that Olikills without at least speaking to him on wii talk forum. Something however from your general tone tells me that you've decided what the facts are already on just about every topic!

I just got this game today and whilst I'm enjoying it for the most part I have noticed that there are a lot of more experienced players in beginners matches (I've only played 3 matches >_<) . As someone who has never really played a VG online before but has been gaming for 10+ years it is a little off putting getting killed every 5 seconds as other users have stated. I also dislike the grenades lol. I'm sure I'll get used to it.

EyeSoh - But it is worth persisting with ...For now just try to enter non ranked games , they're the ones without the EA symbol on the left.

Some members at Wiitalk started making passworded (for want of a better word) "noob" games so the less experienced players could have decent games against opponents of similar levels without being slaughtered every few seconds.

I would advise every1 here to go to wiitalk.co.uk
Many MoH players go there and talk about there games.
There are many initiatives going on on that forum!

@AceInvader, we played quite some times I think, you are usually in port games indeed :P You are a pretty good sniper Enjoyed playing with you..

If some of you saw me in-game, tell me what you thought about me!
