Default Cannot connect to EA server

Hi, are there any other AOL users who have not been able to connect to the servers?

EA have said that since AOL have updated their system about 12 days ago it has resulted in a 100% data loss on the server.

Does anyone know any more on this??

Yes.
Ive recently had it out with them for telling me for a year ive been and am on 8mb when they put me on 2 . my mate is the same so just a heads up to anyone gettin 2272 kb line sync speed on 8mb package .

But back to the topic...

I was able to connect sometimes (with immense lag), better at night but i get put with the same americans a lot, and from about the date you mention I have had 0% connection, until 12.00.01am or just after, when i get instantly into the multiplayer menu and all my awards etc have loaded. When i wake up i can 1 of 3 days get a game started from 8 till 10am.
None of my friends in finland sweden or germany are having these problems.

Ive seen a thread on another forum i dont know which, and i think we AOL customers are not alone in this situation.

If its AOL's system, why can i get on at midnight, its peculiar ....

I've not been able to connect at all although I haven't tried after midnight.

EA have told me they are putting pressure on AOL as it's been proven that the problem is lying at their end and we just have to sit and wait - which sucks!

If you start your own thread on the support web-site and get any other AOL users you know to do the same it may speed things up.

I got online again last night, 7 mins past 12 straight into USA EA servers AGAIN and where i stayed till 7 45.

Robb35:
I cant get on it dont have screen name, and i personaly think EA are trying to pass the buck, but for me it lies firmly with them as not even 1 of my other ps3 games have the same issue or are having even a single problem , and trust me gta4 can be a *****.
Are there any EU EA servers???

would just like to add, im getting screen freezing the past 3 nites mid game , and about 6 times after laser guided missiling something (recon) screen goes and stays blak till i stumble into an enemy. im not sure if this is connection, hard drive ,disc or patch error.

Well last night i fell asleep at 11.55 after 20 minutes of attempting to get in, luckily this morning i got a few games before 10 when i got booted full stop. AOL simply provide the internet, if you can connect to the internet you can connect to any address on the net,If the address does not respond then the server you are trying to connect to is obviously, not responding. So my question to EA is why can i connect 12am -8/10am, but any other time im refused access, not by aol, but your server? Is this how your coping with high usage or what? Can you or have you released something official regarding this while this worldwide fault persists.

If anyone can shed some more light..........

I have read about similar problems in the Battlefield forum for those using AOL as their ISP. There is a thought that AOL need to open the ports required to connect with the EA servers. I am feeding back about this in reports this week but it might be worth contacting AOL yourselves also.

I have e-mailed and written to AOL on this issue and await their response.

I've forwarded all ports suggested by EA including those utilised by Gamespy, checked all firewall rules and still cannot connect.

I think if AOL have updated their service as EA have said then these ports have been closed inadvertantly.

OK thanks,
so im guessing theres some sort of server alocation setup going on then, and aol only have open the ports used for servers in the usa? because if im meant to be on a european server from 10am till midnight, this would explain why i can get on at these times, and why everyone seems to be american in my games lol.
was on today till exactly 10am again

Default connection to ea master server

been through the lot over 3 weeks now and have found out aol is the course of the problem they have put a residential cap between the hours of 4 and 10 because there servers cant cope i,ve run a uo trace to ea and found it was loosing packets contacted aol of which they said it was ea,s fault so pass the buck i changed isp to sky.com and it worked straight away so it is the isp aol who is at fault so change isp.

So if it is opening the ports can that not just be done on your router?

I know 2 people who can not get into MOHA on ps3 it says can not connect to EA but i will see if i can get them to try after 10pm.

I have also ran a UO Trace. I'm getting 100% data loss at several locations on the server path. AOL have said they have not closed any ports to EA or Gamespy servers.
I sent the trace results to them and EA and still await the response.

My hunch is AOL at fault but so far nothing's sticking to them.

I've got no update or news I am afraid other than the fact that I have enquired about this today to see if I can get any information to pass on.

Thought everything was cured after managing to get on the server just after 10.00am GMT yesterday (1st time in 3 weeks).

Tried again at around 3.00pm GMT and could not get on!

Word seems to be that AOL during February have reduced their bandwidth on many game servers. This is why players who have AOL as their ISP are experiencing problems connecting.

As for me I'm leaving AOL. Not just because of this but it was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Default Cannot connect to EA servers

I am a AOL users and i am experiencing the same problem with these EA servers, but yet i cannot even connect in the morning at all. I also can not connect to games such as Halo 3, Gears of war 2 etc. Fifa 09 is my main game as well as shooters and i just cannot connect to the EA servers at all. Very disappointed in the servers as i brought the games to play online anyway. money wasted
