Default Mass Effect PS3

Mass Effect look so cool and awesome. So i wondered since ea now owns bioware: Will mass effect come to ps3? I mean all ea console titles are multi and it wouldent make sence if ME1 only were for xbox

I lalalalaut kinda is wierd dont ya think? I mean then nr2 needs an all new story or the ps3 users wont be able to follow it without having an xbox. That mean its not gonna sell just as much.

Well the first is going to stay 360 exclusive, I think they said, and they also said the sequels might be multi-plat.

As for Story. Well a quick flashback would be all you need to know. The first one pretty much wrapped up the ME 1 adventure completely, while leaving it open for more. It was done quite well in that regard. So you'd just need a quick brief to catch up with whats going on don't worry.

I read the mass effect IP remains between microsoft/bioware which means you can expect it on PC and 360. No PS3.

Oh really? I didn't know that. Similar to the Crackdown IP then? Third party game, exclusive 'first party' type IP.

Yeah i wouldn't buy a console for one game either.

Do you know anyone that has a 360? Whether they have the game or not? You could possibly borrow the 360 and rent the game or something.

Actually, I'm really curious about this. Mass Effect is a Microsoft IP - Microsoft funded the development of the game on the Xbox 360. EA then buy BioWare and Mass Effect creeps onto the PC (Understandable) released by EA, but the game itself funded by Microsoft with a relatively easy conversion by EA.

EA publish a Microsoft IP. I wonder how they got that, and further, Microsoft allowing EA to do this (after all, it wouldn't be through goodness of the heart!). There must surely be some clause between the two stating that Mass Effect CAN be taken over by EA, but NOT published Multi-Platform...?

It's rather unusual.

To be honest i don't ever remember reading that it was a MS IP. I'll have a look online later but for now I need to be going.

I think it all lies with that the deal was made before bioware was taken over by EA.

I played Mass Effect on PC and totally loved it! Was gutted when i finished the game! Heard rumours that they were going to bring out ME2 and now it looks like the rumours are true with the whole teaser now up (Loved btw)! But yeh i think ME2 would obvs do so much better if it came out on PS3 aswell as PC & Xbox... Surely?

Well, ME2 is confirmed for 360 and PC, IMO theres no point putting out ME2 on PS3, wheres the sense in giving an audience a partial story?

Due to the way the original ME was drawn up between bioware and microsoft it might not be possible to release it on the PS3 ever.

Plus anyway when you bring the PC into the fray nothing else survives as theres more flexibility with the PC plus it often looks and runs better.

It is a possibility, they released dragon age origins onto PS3 and it's graphics are better than 360 version, so they might do a re-release now that they've seen the capabilities of the PS3

Blalalahere would be no point releasing ME2 and 3 without ME1 because decisions you made in the first game are carried over to the next (which is apparently, hundreds of decisions)
