Hi, I'm a noob and have an annoying problem which I hope you can help me with.
The games runs fine but I have two white lines with a green bar in the middle of them on the left of the screen. The white lines run from top to bottom of the screen but the green line gets bigger the more sound there is. Also, written next to the lines at the top is the word SLi. I have a 22in Fujitsu monitor so my first thought was to change the screen res, however to only two options I get inside the game are 1650x1080 and 1440x900 and nether get ride of the lines. Also I don't have a third party sound card. I just use the realtek hd 5.1 built into my motherboard .Xp Home with service pack 3 Direct X. Version 9c Processor. Intel Core 2 Quad Extreme QX6700 S775 2.66GHz Motherboard. XFX S775 nForce 680i LT SLI DDR2 ATX Memory. 4 Gig of Corsair 240-Pin DIMM XMS2-6400 CL5 Graphics. 2 XFX GeForce 8800GTS 320MB DDR3 PCIE Dual DVI XXX ED in Sli mode Hope you can help. Although it doesn't interfer with the game it is BLOODY annoying .Many Thanks for anything you can do .Dodge500 |

Game stuttering, graphical lag, or low frame rate. These are my common anticipated issues, however its much related. Issue seems to be common with systems with SLI/Crossfire enabled or with Nvidia 8800GT. Here are some steps that I can suggest for you to do:
1. End-Background-Task (EBT) 2. Lower ingame graphic settings, 3. Turn off Dynamic Shading. Other steps being tried are turning off Force-Split Rendering and to disable the SLI/Crossfire setup. Hope these steps works on your end. If the problem persist hit me back - I'll try my best to research for more... |

Hi ASIVanFelix,
Many thanks for the suggestions. I managed to cure the problem by doing the following :-1. Run the "NVIDIA Control Panel" 2. Go to 3D Settings/Manage 3D Settings (you need to set the "Advanced Settings" on the toolbar to "Advanced" as this option doesn't show up in "Standard". 3. Select "Program Settings" and find "Mass Effect" in the "Select program to customize" option. 4. Change "SLI Performance mode" from "NVIDIA recommended (SLI)" to "Use global setting (NIVIDIA recommended)" 5. Apply the changes 6. Run and enjoy Mass Effect without the annoying lines ![]() If you have the same problem using NVIDIA graphics cards hopefully this will help, it worked for me .Once again many thanks buddy, you put me on the right path. Hello Ryoden, sorry to hear that the game is not working on your end. However I checked the minimum system requirement of this game and your current VC (Sapphire Radeon 9600 Atlantis 256MB) is not that powerful to run the game.
The minimum system requirments for Crysis are as follows: Windows XP

Hello sLOVEnc90
Game is not providing channeled output on 5.1 sound setups. (Eg. No sounds on any speaker, or no Music only, or No voice only). Issue seems to be with the configuration utility not being able to detect the correct Hardware Audio (enumeration). Try to update your 5.1 Channel software/driver. Another step that I can suggest is to rename the My Documents\Bioware\Mass Effect\Config\BIOEngine.ini file, and then run the Binaries\masseffect.exe directly. Once in the game, enable the Hardware Audio in the Options>Settings>Sounds menu. Hope this will help...Cheers!
