Not unless you have an NTSC PS2 - if you bought your PS2 in the UK, the game will not work.

Good news, however, UK PC owners will be able to buy the game via the EA Downloader. We'll post up information on how to get your copy of the game when it launches next week.

More good news, the PC demo is now available on FilePlanet.

OMG, Well done EA at last!! Do you know what file size it will be and will the price be in $s. Only asking because I bought HL2 EP1 off Steam and it cost £12 due to the exchange rate

It's going to be a little while longer before NFL Head Coach is available for download but it will still be appearing on Downloader in the near future. We'll let you all know once it's up for digital purchase/download.

Is there any word on a date yet? I'm afraid to say I'm rather annoyed at the slippage, when the EA Downloader was clearly marked as "get it the moment it's released!" I'll still be buying the game, but certinatly doesn't give me a positive inital expirience I'm afraid.

Default HC Downloader

Just checked the NFL head coach site and people in certain regions in America can start downloading, what does this mean for us? Anyone?

Posts like that are definitely not allowed here Manny07P.

For your collective informations, you can now buy and download NFL Head Coach for £29.99 (inc. VAT) right here. If anyone here grabs it do post here to let us know what you think.

I have it!

My reaction is fortunatly, that it's good! However, it doesn't quite come up to excellence for me.

First of all, this certinatly isn't a game for a casual football fan - you have to really love and know the sport to get into it - in my case, that's certinatly not a problem, but a mainstream market, especially in the UK might find it a bit offputting.

The player/personnel management side is very good fun - unfortunatly it's the training that lets it down. To succeed in the game you really have to do the training each week, else the drop in play is really noticeable. Unfortunatly, the training tends to be repetitive, and ultimately dull - especially when doing four weeks of it before the preseason when you're itching to get into the first game. The games themselves however are fantastic, strategy led battles, although I have found (possibilty as I'm playing as the Pats) I have a tendency to really dominate when I practice (although I'm only 3 games into the preseason) - for instance Brady getting 4 TD's, 321 yards and a QB rating of 141.2 - even for him, that's a lot. Only other complaint would be the interface - some things are trickier than they should be.

Overall a good effort though. Still annoyed about the delay, but worth waiting for.

I'm changing my tune a bit now, as I'm a bit worried about the difficulty of the game, or if it's bugged.

I've had very high yardage and scores in my preseason games (QB rating of 105.6 and 149.3 for instance), but now things have gone off the chart against the Redskins, and it's just not right.

In the first quarter of the game alone, I had 5 interceptions, and my defensive backs are just about the weakest part of my team, excepting Rodney Harrison. This led to getting 9 interceptions over the whole game (and Ramsay still wasn't taken off!) I'm running a slightly pass-leaning game, about 65% passes, and in this game, Brady had 380 passing yards, and 5 TD's. The rushing game had 80 yards, and 2 TD's, my final score being well over 70. I'm pretty concerned the game is bugged now. As much as I love my patriots, few teams are that good.

The difficulty also seemed to completly change to an unrealistic level in the middle of the game. As I say, I had those 5 ints and about 150 passing yards in the first quarter - by the time of the fourth, when the Redskins had been able to get nothing going on offense all game, I had them down at 3rd and 13, and set up with a long pass defense (prevent) which was also a money play. Ramsey got it to the No.2 WR for a 70 yard gain in quadruple coverage.

It just is inconsistant and doesn't make sense, I think I'll be contacting EA tech support about it.

Did you download it using the EA Downloader?

I downloaded it last night after having paid £29.99 which is frankly a bit steep considering the lower costs involved to EA (i.e no discs, manual, box or delivery to the store).

Once it had downloaded (some time later even with a 2Mb connection) I kept getting an error telling me to log into the EA Downloader to verify my purchase.

I've now uninstalled it, in case it was complaining because I had the demo and didn't uninstall that 1st, and I've left it downloading again whilst I'm at work. Hopefully this will fix the problem.

The suggestions I received from EA this morning weren't overly helpful and basically said that the error I was seeing was because I'd installed it onto 4 machines which isn't the case as I only have 2 PC's!

I'll let you know how I get on when (if!) I can get it working.

Has anyone else had these problems?

I have the same problem with the downloader. I had the same reply from EA! I have read several other posts on the main EA forums about this problem and it seems to be happening to UK customers only.

EA of course seem completely uninterested in this matter as it would appear they just send everyone the same standard email about not installing it on more than 3 pc's and to check the knowledgebase if you have any more problems. I emailed them back and told them if they are unwilling to resolve this problem that they either send me a copy of the game on disk or give me a full refund for the game i purchased and have been unable to play!

I found after installation, opening the downloader and opening it to play in there (which results it in coming up with another error) then closing EA Downloader and opening it on your actual computer worked fine.

Default EA Downloader problem

I am having the same problem. I am in Taiwan, but downloaded it from a US site, I think. The message box keeps asking me to log into the downloader (which of course I already have) and check on the rights to the game. I got the exact same message about not installing the game on four computers, which I haven't. I wrote back asking for more help, and if they really do respond within 24 hours then I should have a second reply by tonight. It's frustrating to have had the game for four days now and not once been able to check it out!

Issues we've seen with Downloader purchases previously indicate that if you buy the game using the wrong country for where you live it might not work.

Each game is encoded to a particular timezone so that game sales can be tracked accurately (important for charts), and online players directed towards the right lobby.

On the Downloader "buy now" page it will have said "North America Only" on the US page.

Get in touch with tech support and explain what happened and they should be able to help you out.

As far as Downloaded versions of the game not playing, I've found it works first time if you reboot, log into Downloader and hit the Play Now button.

The game looks really good. Does anyone know where could buy it for XBOX? Someone mentioned some online store is USA. Do you know which one might provide Head Coach to Europe? Amazon.com will not send it.

And if I buy the game from USA does it work on my XBOX which I have bought from Europe?

Head Coach is only available in Europe (UK and Germany) via Downloader on PC.

If you order a copy from the US for your European XBox it won't work unfortunately.

I honestly feel that when some1 enjoys a game, regardless of what any1 else might think, including myself, then the game has scored a victory and both sides should be pleased.

However, despite voting YES :

One question, as I have two PC's (A Computer & A Laptop) would you able to say download the game on one computer, but play it on both buy burning it onto a disc and installing it on the other computer. (for personal use seeing as I'm the only person that I know of is interested in the game) Or is that illegal?
