The Infraction System: What does it mean?

It would seem that the new infraction system this forum has built in is confusing some members, so I am going to try and explain just what exactly the infraction system is.

To put it simple, it’s an automated way for moderators to issue warnings or infractions to users who do not follow the terms and conditions of this forum. The following can be issued by a moderator:

Warnings – these carry no point value and are just a friendly reminder of the forum rules. Most of the time users will be issued a warning before an actual infraction is given as we believe in giving people a fair chance

Infractions – these are more serious than a warning. Each infraction given carries a point value and an expiry date. When a user reaches a certain level of points they will be banned from the forum, currently the limit is 10 points. Different infractions carry different point values and expiry times depending on the severity of the incident (see below for a list of infractions, point values and time limits). In most cases an infraction will clear itself after a set amount of time (some infractions carry a non expiring penalty), if after clearing itself your infraction points total is below the banning level your account will no longer be banned and you are welcome to return.

Once a warning or infraction has been issued, a PM will be sent to the user explaining why the infraction was issued, how many points it carries and how long it will stand. If you feel the infraction/warning was unfair then please contact an Administrator, don’t start a public thread as it will be locked/removed.

Signature Rule Violation - Points: 1, Expiry: 5 Day(s)
Inappropriate Language - Points: 1, Expiry: 1 Month(s)
Advertising - Points: 1, Expiry: 10 Day(s)
Inappropriate Behaviour - Points: 1, Expiry: 1 Month(s)
Spamming - Points: 1, Expiry: 10 Day(s)
Misc Infraction - Points: 1, Expiry: 10 Day(s)
Off Topic - Points: 1, Expiry: 7 Day(s)
Imitating an EA/DICE Employee / Moderator - Points: 10, Expiry: Never
Account dupes - Points: 10, Expiry: Never
Flaming/Racism - Points: 10, Expiry: Never
Ad. Spam Ban - Points: 10, Expiry: Never
Misc. Instant Ban - Points: 10, Expiry: Never
Underage Member - Points: 10, Expiry: 30 Day(s) (Changes according to age)
