Default Fifa 2007 Laptop Compatability

Have a Dell Inspiron 6400 laptop, recently downloaded Fifa 2007 after checking requirments on the uk website and running the "systems lab analysis". Direct downloaded the game, installed it and it wont start. It just gives an error "this game cannot start".

CPU 1.86 centrino duo
RAM 1024mb
Windows XP
ATI Mobility Radeon X1400, 256Mb, Direct x 9.0c
67G free disk space

McAfee virus running in the background and nothing else. Any idea what might be wrong or what I can do to get it running?

Default What are you doing with McAfee ?

When you say "the only thing", you do realise that is enough to make PC folk laugh out loud. I suppose you didn't turn it off to install it either ? TURN OFF MCAFEE (If you can. Some versions can only be disabled by uninstalling it). With that (or the dreaded Norton) running, it will be slow anyway. Get a good free AV (AVG Free - Download antivirus and antispyware software for Windows XP and Vista) and stop polluting your computer with rubbish. And when installing / uninstalling, turn it off. Job Done.

Right on. I never said "the only thing" and consider myself PC folk as well, regardless I hear your point about McAfee. I did deactivate it when downloading, but as you guessed, its not a version that can be completely turned off unless deleted.

Didn`t have a problem running NHL 2007 on the laptop even with McAfee running fully, although at some points it was slow and instable. But it always started no problem.

Kept playing around with FIFA 2007 and got an "EA 5510" error and am waiting on a response from EA Helpdesk. Don`t think its McAfee stopping the game from starting up, I think its EA Download Manager.

Thanks anyway though.
