so when FIFA '99 came out, FIFA '98 just disappeared and was never allowed to be played again

FIFA '99 didn't have indoor an option, so I'm starting to question either your memory or opinion on old FIFA games! '99 was however an amazing game and I played it to death. For me it's between '99 and 2005. I don't even think 2005 was that technically great ('06 made improvements in areas) at the time, but it was just so much fun and games were always end to end. I doubt I've played a copy of FIFA so much. |

I was on about the PS2 when i was on about 04' 2004 was great for me And I loved the camaras and views like you could go behind the player when he was taking a throw in and I love the new Pro camara in FIFA now so thats an improvement for me. |

FIFA 2004 also didn't even have a create-a-tournament mode, a big feature missing which left very few gaming options considering the career mode wasn't brilliant. 2004 would be down the pile for me for so many reasons. Some nice cameras don't change that! To those who've voted 2008 as the best - clearly it's the most technically superior being that technology has advanced so much, but surely the question is geared to how good the game was at the time as well. Certain FIFA's pushed new boundaries (the very first one included) and I think that should be taken into consideration. |

Personally, I thought FIFA 2004 and FIFA 2006 were shoite.
FIFA 2003 and FIFA 2005 set a massive difference from the rest of its games, felt more in control of the players, and to be honest, I think FIFA 2009 (PS3) actually feels like an upgrade of FIFA 2005, players move freely instead of the 8 direction lalalala that's been in the others. |

I had Fifa 03, 04 and 05 before I switched to pro evo. All of those were really good. Then 06, 07 and 08 were very average. Now 09 is really good too. I used to love how you could score a free kick from anywhere in 03. :P

FIFA 98 was just plain awesome. There was so much to do in it. Leagues, Cups, the World Cup mode - it even had qualifying for God's sake! You could save your replays (and give the file a name *hint hint EA*), you could edit everything in the game - players, clubs, strips, everything. I made a South Shields FC in place of Tottenham with all my mates from school, edited player to make them look like their real life counter part and edited the strips to my own liking. I even made Scotland into the English 1st Division (the better teams of the league anyway) because my beloved Sunderland weren't in the game and I wanted to play as them! Pleeeeeease make FIFA 2010 as customizable
![]() My God, I forgot about the indoor game on it. That settles it, FIFA Road to World Cup France 98 was the best football game... EVER! Last edited by LiamoW21; 13-10-2008 at 04:21 PM.. Reason: I forgot about the indoor game. |

I really enjoyed FIFA 06...still playing it often. I've had only 99, 01, 06, 08, and tomorrow I pick up 09.
Anyway, 99 was pretty awesome back then; 01 was loads of fun with the 360 or stepover everytime. I still remember my all-conquering Barca squad with Henry, Rivaldo, Kluivert up front...at the end of one season I had scored 40 goals with Henry, 36 with Rivaldo, and 28 with Kluivert! So much fun! But so far I'd have to say 06 was my favourite FIFA but I hope 09 can be something exciting and lasting as well.
