Besides FIFA 08 next-gen, my favourite was FIFA Football 2004. FIFA 99-02 were all enjoyable for me, however, 2004 always kept me coming back for more regardless of the mediocre gameplay. Then of course, I discovered PES, hehe!

FIFA 08, love the graphics. Commentary could be muuuuuuuuuch better tho. And i cant get the damn thing to go online because it keeps telling me i didnt register the game which i did at installation. Then when i use my registration code, it tells me its already been registered. What should i do?

I remember the first FIFA, the one without a year. It was called FIFA International Soccer.... and we played it on a Sega system here in the states. For some reason I recall a striker on the Israel team, called Y. Schlomo. I have no idea if the Israeli side had such a player or not at the time (which was about 1992 or 1993), but for football fans here in the states, the game was a freaking REVELATION.All the others have had more features, and of course game engines and graphics today destroy everything from "back in the day," but for sheer excitement (finally a game for us!) the original holds a special place in my memory.I was generally better than all my friends, even those who were fans, and I played with Israel a lot. They with Brazil, or England, Germany, etc. Y. Schlomo and I could still beat all comers... most of them anyway.

- I played both FIFA 03 and 05 on Xbox.
- Enjoyed the '05 Practice mode, including practising passing, corners and free-kicks. - Just got '08. Haven't seen those features yet, but I haven't tried manager-mode, so maybe they are in there (cross-fingers). If not, makes practising a bit harder. - In '05, I also liked the ability to pinpoint long passes using one of the 3 options. The purists may think this was an oversimplification, but it made counter-attacks very dangerous and exciting. - And also, as already mentioned, the ability to control off-the-ball runs with the right-stick was also a nice feature. Cheers, NG |
