It's fun once you get used to it. It is pretty confusing for me though.

Mark Hoppus, Stephen Fry and Jimmy Eat World are my personal favourite celebrities to follow.

Mark Hoppus managed to start up this whole "apple shampoo" trend - the feed is spammed with people asking why it's a trending topic, or people thinking it's actually about apple flavoured shampoo.

I like Danny Wallace (@misterwallace) celebrity wise. Not too fussed about the rest. Most of my favourite folk are only internet-famous or not famous at all.

Just installed TweetDeck. It's so much easier!

It's currently free on Vodafone.

Not that it'd matter anyway - I never use my entire text bundle, so one or two text updates to Twitter don't really impact it.

Lookie what I found.

Twitter does not allow users to send direct messages to people who do not follow you, though that may act as a deterrent to stop spamming, direct messages are much more better than sending a message via a reply.
Tech Spikes has a nice hack that will allow you to send a direct message to people who do not follow you in twitter.

To send a DM to a non-follower in Twitter, you have to “derive” their DM URL to create a DM message. Here’s the syntax
Twitter

Replace the twitterusername with the twitter id of the person to whom you wish to send the DM and you can send a direct message to a user without them following you.

It seems the Twitter managers have had a slow week so far and have decided to "fix things" that were not broken to start with. Gr.

In what Twitter called a small settings update, we can no longer see public replies sent by friends to people we aren't following. (Fragmented conversations.)

They argued that despite the update, we'll still see mentions or references link to people we don't follow. And that they'll be introducing "better" ways to discover and follow interesting accounts they release more features.

Really?

I'd like to use my own sense of judgement in deciding who's interesting enough to follow. Seeing who my friends are talking to is one of the best ways to do that.

I don't really go on the site anymore. It really takes a long time for me and I get confused with the layout and everything. Yes, your not suprised. Thats why I always use Tweet Deck now. It's a lot more clear and set out so it's much more easier to use.

This new replies system is terrible. I generally find people to follow through seeing who the people I currently follow talk to. Why fix it if it's not broken?

I'll certainly be contributing to the #fixreplies feed until something's done. You could pick before - what was wrong with that?

Am I missing something? I've never seen replies to people I don't follow.

There used to be an option in your settings to either show or hide replies to people you don't follow - however, now that's been removed and they're hidden for all of us.

Ah, I see! Well, that just makes no sense. If people don't want to see replies to those they don't follow, they just wouldn't select the option. So... what's the harm in keeping it?

I wasn't even aware of that feature before anyway.
I just occasionally visit other people's profiles if I want to see who else they reply to!

Hold on, whats up with Twitter?
I tryed to join/restore my account.
When i tryed to restore it said something like "We couldn't verify your restoration"
When i tryed to join instead it said: "Sorry we can't do that right now"
What's going on?
