When I first saw the trailer I was a bit skeptical, I wasn't a fan of the new Joker look. However in later trailers it grew on me and the personality that Heath Ledger presented through it of him rather impressed me, since, well. He's my sorta villain. Unstable and evil =).
So going to see it when it comes out. |

im still not sure i loved jack nicholsons portrayal when i was a kid and it scared me. Christopher nolans portrayals of batman havent really convinced me that much either compared to tim burtons. and of course you can never beat danny elfmans batman theme

I guess I'll go... even though I was never a batman girl. Couldn't stand the dude. Stands around in his cape all day, glaring.

To be honest I really like the new image Batman. Dont get me wrong, I grew up with the first two Batman films and loved them, before it went silly with the likes of Mr Freeze/Robin and co, but this is the best image.
Bale is a great actor imo who is never recoginsed for his work at the level he should be. Some of his greats include American Psycho, Equilibrium and BB. I've not actually seen 3:10 to Yuma or The Prestige but I'm sure they're equally as good. Terminator 4 will also star Mr Bale Coupled with the new darker Batman image, I hope they make another two or three! However, if someone like Shia LaBeouf ends up as Batman after Bale, please shoot me!

i choose nicholson and also i do believe (leaving out the joel schumacher batman films) that tim burtons films are/were better than the chris nolan films because tim seems to capture the darkness of batman and its comic world

Tim Burton has a reputation for dark, more macabre films. So I agree with that statement even without seeing the other batman films other than once when some of it was on t.v. once. Not sure which.
As for the darkness of the comic world. I'm not so sure Batman was really that dark a comic. The Joker was kinda creepy, yeah, for a villain, but overall, Batman was just. Dull, imo, not really so much 'dark'. Unless you count the fact that he wears black, a lot of it appears to be dark in New York or wherever it's set, and the Joker's in the shade sometimes.

As the film draws nearer, i thougt i'd bump this before someone makes a new one
![]() I know i said that i won't be seeing this film, but after seeing the critical acclaim Batman Begins got and i'm also hearing that The Dark Knight is also critically acclaimed by reviewers so far (IGN.com gave it 5/5 ), i've thought about purchasing Batman Begins on DVD, and if i like it, i might purchase the old Batman films aswell ![]() So basically, if i like BB, i'll probably go see this one...

Batman '89 was god awful, and not even the great Jack Nicholson could have made it 'good'. In fact, he is one of the reasons why it sucked. But I'm sure I'm the minority on this one..
