Fixing a Linksys Router

Alright, I have a Linksys WRT54G Router. I wanted to look into getting XBOX Live, but obviously I can't do that without a working router. Anyways, the problem is that when it was set up, the WEP key was written down but misplaced. Does anyone know how to recover that on the computer. Also, when I type in the IP of the router into IE, I get the set up page for my ISP, not a Linksys one. Any help would be much appreciated.

You can recover your WEP key by running Aircrack's WZcook tool on the computer. Download this zip file, and run the wzcook.exe file that's inside the "bin" folder.

For the IP address, are you sure you've got the right one? It should be either 192.168.2.1 or 192.168.0.1. If you get the IP correct it should be impossible for your ISP to intercept the request with their own page, although some routers might have a branded page, not sure that's the case for you though.

What do I do with that program, I just see a bunch of files that I can't open. Which one do I use?

Neither of those IPs work.

Open the zip file, browse into the first folder inside, then open the "bin" folder, then open wzcook.exe.

The easiest way I can think of to find your router's IP address is to double-click your internet connection icon (in the system tray, by the windows clock) and then open the "Support" tab in the window that appears. The IP address of your computer will be listed. The IP address of your router should then be whatever your PC's IP address is but with the last number changed to 1.

Is the WEP key only like 5 digits, because I remember the other one being very long.

It depends on the key strength you're using, 64-bit keys are usually 10 characters, 128-bit keys usually 26 I think. A 64-bit key should be something like 6d475e3d52. Which could be written with spaces: 6d 47 5e 3d 52.
