Surely... as Lewis said... if it was illegal to buy a gun... no shops sold guns... guns weren't even on the market, unless you were a cop, fbi blah blah blah... then... very very few people would have access to one. Thus... no criminals would have access to them.

... if they did... then they would've stolen them from the cops, etc and surely they have enough cctv and equipment to find the person who stole it.

We (the public) dont need guns... people in the past got by just fine without them.

That's a pretty simple explanation bunnii0, to a very complicated problem, but I say you're pretty much spot on.
