Default What is so good about Pc games?

All I see is I have problems with this and this.

I have the Radeon x1950 Pro and it has been reported to have more then 30+ games problems. all you see is this will not play it keeps crashing. I play wow and I always update the drivers but every so often the gfx card would restart. So I dowloaded the new one and installed and restarted with the Catalyst control center. and it says there is not gfx drivers installed. ...ok I just installed them. But when ?I get the drivers through windows update they download and install fine and so far ok. I have this problem with xp and vista.

So what is the point of buying a pc to play games on when. it is incompatible, crashes. will not run even though you have the right specs and not forgetting you have to pay more to play the game through a upgrade.

With a console games this never happens

Indeed hence why I use a console and only use my PC for games like FM and the sims.

Some people prefer PC games simply for the control aspect. I grew up with PC games so I'm more comfortable with the controls on PC's. Although saying that, I do play games on console more than I do on PC now.

Simply because my PC has fallen behind in terms of game requirements and also most of the games I like the look of, only appear on console.

All I tend to play on here now is Simulation games like Sims, SimCity, Zoo Tycoon and so on. The PC is more of a workhorse now a days anyway.

Well, i'll take a recent example for why i think PC gaming is worth it.

Team Fortress 2.

It is miles better on the PC for one simple reason: Custom content.

The game ships with 6 maps. I have over 40 custom ones saved on my computer, and play a lot of them regularly. Most of them are just as good or better than the official ones, and greatly expand the game experience.

Another example: Battlefield 2.

The community made mods were better than the standard game. Forgotten Hope 2, Project Reality, Point of Existance etc.

It's just better on the PC, along with a lot of other games. Flalalalatrategy games are always better on the PC because you get to use keyboard+mouse instead of dual analogue. Games like fighters and racing games are always better on the consoles. However the PC is the king for fps's.

However i am wanting to get myself a 360. I miss the days of sticking a game into the console and playing without any problems. But the PC is always where fps's and strategy games will be the best. Always .

I agree whole heartedly there.

Pcs have better games like Neverwinter nights 2 and other good rpgs, consolse games are very linear and the controls are frustrating playing a Fps on a mouse and keyboard is miles better than a gamepad as you can shoot with pinpoint accuracy.

If you've got the right hardware then the graphics are always better

And why after all these years consoles are still struggling to beat the keyboard and mouse for better controls on a FPS. Saying that though I havent played a FPS on a WII yet

Is that true? My friend built a high spec pc a expensive gfx card and the game would not run it. What was the game Counterstrike 2. Maybe not supported I have no idea.

So is it grafics or gameplay? The simple fact is people prefer the gameplay look at the game pong people prefer that to all these hyed up pc games more fun but oh look at the gfx. Just a fact do you look at a game or do you play it. Studies proven that you play the game.

I spend most of my gaming time on my PC.
I just find it much easier, but then again, it takes up space on your Hard Drive to install the game.

You should try. Wiimote&nunchuck = closest competitor to Mouse&keyboard.

Well pls explain how you can compare a keyboard basically a flat controller to 2 sticks? You can compare the wii mote to a dual shock yea 2 sticks and 2 sticks. Next you will be saying you can type a message with the wii mote. a Stick is a stick a board ios a board 2 different things

I think he's talking about the freedom when you aim in an fps game compared to the analog sticks on a gamepad (vs a mouse, vs a wiimote)

For me, I think it's about the games you play. For example, I like to play a strategy game like Civilizations, and at the same time chat with people while waiting for the cpu to take its turn .... or play card games ... or one of those free online games that aren't made by big publishers who can afford to release them on 360/ps3 (eg: kicks online, ultimate baseball online..etc)

Also nothing beats the customization level you can get with PC games. Yes there are some console games that let you install mods and what not, but you can't really go as deep as editing files in the game however you want and just make the most out of that game. Like FIFA for example (let's ignore there are CG and NG versions for now), you can simply edit the game and add as many teams as you like --in a week there were tons of patches to add more leagues/teams-- and there's zero content so far on consoles.

--not mentioning only PC can have dx10 games now (if you're into graphics more than the actual game, I'm not though).

Also, you can take a quick break from a game [Removed by Smart - inappropriate] and start playing again.

Checkmate, PC gaming wins.

oh yea waving a stick at a screen looks like real aimng. that was sarcastic. I prefer not to say what waving a stick at a screen looks like as this is a family forum.and with the wi mote there is no forde like the dual shock sticks or the mouse. So the aiming will be way too light. Just makes me think using the wii mote is like people using a feather duster lol

Doesn't make sense now.

You can take quick breaks and start playing again on consoles as well.

What you think of course I have. Oh and do not forget how many tv's have been broken to people over reacting using that control.

Also using a wii mote is like fishing in front of your tv or conducting a orcestra

1. you may notice that no everyone likes the same things. Also reviews ect are totally biased like on gametrailer. I know what I like I do not need review to tell me what I like samee with you. You know what you like so people should stop trying to change and just accept what people like. I feel the PS2 controller was always the best it appeals to some not to all.

Those people don't know that they should hold something if they're pretending to throw it at a TV
