Question about Nintendogs

My friend got fed up with Nintendogs, so gave me his copy of the game, but I can't figure out how to reset it. I wouldn't mind, but he has two dogs, both of whom are starving etc, and I have no money, so I'd rather reset the game and start over. Does anyone know how?

My daughter is telling me something about holding down a few keys on the start menu. I will see if I can find the manual.

On the first screen you see with the red Nintendo logo when the game starts you need to press A, B, X, Y, L and R all at the same time. This will erase all your saved data and puppies.

From what I believe, it's like an updated 'Tamagotchi' for the Nintendo DS. Instead of those creatures, they're dogs.
