We have backup-power but only one lightbulb per classroom if the powerdies, the one lightbulb is also very very dim. The corridors have a few more back-up lights but not enough to light them fully, they are also dim. Everyone took advantage of the science corridor being really dark and hid in the toilets and when someone came by they jumped out at them.

My school is lalalala, we don't even have back up power. If it goes out then we have to go home - unless they can get it fixed within about three hours. After that they're not allowed to keep us in any longer. The heating goes out at least once every year.

But we're getting a new school soon.

The only downside is I will have a 20 minute walk instead of a 3 minute walk.

We've had days off because of a power problem before. But never been sent home, the canteen can manage without mains power for a while as they run on something else I think ...

I see some things haven't improved over time, the heating used to go out without fail at least once every winter in my old school. It was usually snowing at the time to so it meant a day or two off each time for playing in the snow.
