You don't actually need a certain browser for anything. You can just make one and "set as homepage" in your browsers options.

Thanks.
![]() I made it using XHTML and CSS in a basic text editor along with images I put together in Photoshop. You can open html documents in any browser and set it as your homepage. As Steve mentioned, you can open the same html document in all sorts of browsers. I.e. Firefox, IE, Chrome, Safari, Opera without issues, usually. If you do choose to use AwesomeStart, any documents you download "for" Firefox or "for" IE, will work in Chrome just as well I should think. It might be because web documents tend to render slightly differently from browser to browser, so the code itself might reflect that. I'd give it a try anyway. Making one like mine will involve books and learning markup languages as well as using a few features on Photoshop or similar image editors. |

Ha.
![]() Well I just meant the opening of the file, rather than it looking fine. I'd imagine that AwesomeStart thingies have conditional comments involved so that they render correctly in the different browsers. I actually haven't tried testing anything in Chrome yet... I should get round to it. Do things often break in Chrome, Aaron? |

Not really, no. It's based on WebKit, so it's just like Safari. I ran into some issues with it (and Safari) yesterday when using negative text-indent, but that was my own fault for specifying a huge number. WebKit doesn't like extremes, it seems.
I don't really bother to test in Chrome (no Mac version is available anyway, which doesn't help). The results I see in Safari are good enough. |
