I play FNR3 on my PSP and its a brilliant game. Good user interface, nice game modes, nice sounds, the playability is great and the graphics are quite awesome. So much so that an overlooker watched me on the game asked " are they real people" yeah lame but true.
Things I have to say might be on this forum somewhere , then again they might not. This is all single player mode as the network mode etc is naff The way my boxers arms drop to his side and he just stands there like a stuffed dummy after missing a punch by block and then gets a full whack in the face is naff. Even more so as my opponents dont suffer they same when I block their jabs. this is naff I knockdown my opponent right on the last 10 seconds tap and then the boxer gets up after 6 seconds when the bell sounds is naff 2 boxers wearing the same shorts at the same time in the ring is naff 2 boxers in the ring with the same nic name is naff my 6 foot 8 inch boxer sometimes fights a boxer who must be like 7 foot tall and 500lbs with a punch like 3 time more powerful than me even when I am at 95% fit is naff Regardless of my initial starting size-muscular-fat-thin whatever I always end up looking th same after a few fights is naff A little dog barks every time my yellow energy band is low when I try to punch and this is naff, it annoys me, whats the little dogs bark for ?? no ref in the ring during play is naff 4,5,6,7,8 times I nock out a boxer and he still gets up to bash me bad is naff. 3 times then he's KOd for good it should be it. apart from all the naff stuff then, fight night 3 is a good game and i thinks its megga, but make fight night 4 better and sort out the naff stuff rgds. I have a few complaints but this is the second time I have had to type this out so I may just skip a couple.
Online ... having not even played it online yet, I was so dissapointed to hear that you cannot take your unique boxer online, but only use the create a champ character ???? If correct ??? Lame! And now onto the more purist issues. Jab in this game is weak. It's not really, but the sound that accompanies a jab isn't very telling. It feels more like you have slapped the fella with a wet cod. But thankfully it does work (just!) and if you wish to rely on that wimpy little pat sound and get on with it, then so be it. I'm sure you'll be fine, but ... All I'm saying is put it into perspective at least let us feel we have placed a nice jab that leaves a nice smack when connecting up. Great work on replacing the Switch stance. I like that a lot. And why can't we hold and hit no more ?? Lame. Parrys. Lame! Why would it take an athlete 3 seconds to lift his arms back up to protect himself from shots after being caught up in a parry ?? Thats right it wouldn't. Boxing kit making your stats change. LAME AS!!! I wore my BurgerKing trainers today and I managed to run 10 MPH faster than I could in my DODGE trainers. LAME, LAME, LAME. Which leads me onto a very annoying factor of this edition ... Product placement. LAME AS HELL! No Tyson, or many of the REAL greats. Come to think of it. MANY. LAME!!! I know why Tyson ain't in it, but why not J Louis ? J Dempsey etc etc etc. The early games had Jack Johnson, and a lot of other great fighters. So to not have them LAME!! The memory of the chief seconds in your corner are far from next gen, sometimes I think they in another arena, watching another fight somewhere in Cyberland. And that goes for Joe Testi-torra's commentry also. Lame!! The fact that they have only changed the next gen graphics, but nothing else is brought to the plate for the 360. Nothing!! Is LAME!!! The music is lame. And I used to like Hip Hop. But thats just Rhyme and Bull's Poo. And does anyone else have troubles with the cordless pd ?? I have nothing buut greif with mine. It always disconnects when I'm about to connect. LAME. But that isn't many complaints, and to think that EA really are on the cusp of creating the ultimate fight sim that will have forever playability as long as you love the sport of boxing that is. Oh yeah and one other thing ... Before i bought this game and had seen demos and images online etc did anyone else notice that there appearred to be blood on the shorts that just seemed to look more realistic than the shorts that are in the full game. That DONT get blood down them. Beware of the Jedi Mind tricks. All the bestest T Undisputed, Undefeated. |

Before you read my complaints, I would just like to say that this is one of my favorite games, I don't really buy sports games, but this one I tried and could not put it down. The Jab sound does sound like you have been slapped by a 5 stone weakling, It is meant to be boxing, make it sound like it actually hurts or you won't be scared of getting hit! The music is totally rubbish, My favorite music is metal, I do like some hip hop/ gangster rap, but that lot was just tripe, they could have at least included the LL Cool J boxing classic theme! Kit adjusting the stats is just idiotic, it is just a marketing ploy if you ask me! I don't care which brand of gloves my boxer has on, It won't make him stronger, or faster. That is what the mini-training games are for. I think the manager mode is quite rubbilalalalahink you should be able to hire a manager full time and build a relationship with him, You know, become a team, Not choose a different one for ever match. As for the fighters............... Where are they! Hardly any legends apart from the most usual, And! where are the british fighters? If you need some help EA, here are some to include in FNR4:- Lennox Lewis, Barry McGuigan, Naseem Hamed, Nigel Benn, Mike Tyson, George Foreman, Evander Holyfield, Sonny Liston, Rocky Marciano, Joe Frasier, Michael Spinks, James Tooney, Sugar Ray Leonard, Sugar Ray Robinson, Oscar De La Hoya, Frank Bruno, Henry Cooper, Chris Eubank, Ricky Hatton, Floyd Mayweather, Amir Khan, Scott Harrison. I know a few of them are in the game already, that is just my way of saying, leave them where they are. As for the carrer mode, BORING!. I would like to suggest that you start as a young man fighting in back alley gym's and work you way to being an amature, then work your way into the pro's. I know it is sort of like that now, but it is completely lifeless, spice it up a bit, throw a story line in there somewhere. Yes I know it is about the boxing, but Need for Speed is about racing cars, but it is nice to see a cut sceen every now and again even if it is just window dressing. Now!, If anybody that matters is reading, Please, Please Please don't change the control set-up, or at least put in an option to return the controls to the same configuration as FNR3. I really would like to buy the next instalment of Fight Night, as I find the controls to be so fluid and right for the game as they are, I can only see that re-arranging the controls will alter the feel of the game for the worse. Might just be me, but that option would almost certianly be a must for me to buy the next game. Thanks. pyschometal |

Mike Tyson had his own boxing game for the PS and It wasnt the best so maybe theres complications in getting him and his like-nesses for EA FN.
I was gutted that there was no Rocky Marciano in the 3rd installment, but I hope and pray that there wll be more of a ranger of talented boxers. I honestly do hope that Amir Khan is in the next one, along with Naseem Hamed - Id love to knock the c*** out of those two... Don't even get me started on Barry McGuigan. |
