How do I stop this from happening?

It seems like in some games I play online whenever I'm attacking I'm trying to pass through the opponents entire defense that is just sitting back. It feels like my players are marked closer than usual as well, making it very difficult to pass. Then, if I get the ball stolen from me, my opponent is able to just pass it to his strikers that are waiting at midfield for a through ball against my back line.

This goes on during the entire game and there's nothing I can do to keep my back line from moving up to midfield, including changing tactics to ultra defensive.

This doesn't happen in every game. Am I doing something wrong? Anyone have a solution? Thanks

probably a custom formation with a lot of defenders in back

I don't think custom formations are allowed online...I may be wrong though...Anyone else have any ideas?

custom formations ARE allowed online and unfortunately theres nothing you can do to stop this. Try making your own formation to counter balance the opponents.

Nothing wrong with customs unless they are unrealistic like 6-0-4. If someone uses like a 4-2-1-3 then go defensive and catch them on the break.

Change your defenders player base positioning in custom formations to as deep as they can go. Ive conceded less 1v1's since doing this.

Well it all depends the players formation, what team he's using, stuff like that.
