That's because you're not able to.

I can score lots of headers even on Legendary with full manual controls.

Have you tryed using R1+0 directing your header to were you want it to go?(PS3 buttons by the way)

scored a cracking header today with only 1 attempt, my friends on assisted didnt score any from more than 10 headers. I think manual helps

You gotta make your players run towards the goal pressing the L1 button (or what it is for you)... If not, no good headers.

I score them pretty regularly on corners, and im not that good at the game.
very rarely score them off crosses.

Im actually the opposite. can score off crosses but not corners. Im also not that good at the game.

Hi All,

Heading is all about giving a good cross. The most important rule in fifa games is do not run. If you do not run you have more ball controll. The same counts for Crossing. Before you cross. 2 or 3 staps no running with R2 (ps3) but normal walking. Then cross with holding L1. Works for me very well. I have scored already over 100 header goals in the game. World class, Online and in Clubs together.

hold the r1 or rb button try and just tap shoot button just as the ball is getting to you dont hit it too early, even try double tapping shoot button.

You can tell your other players to make a run?

For the last month I've been playing this game not knowing this, looking for a cross to put into the box thinking "make a fhking run so I can cross it to you, don't just stand there!!!"

So, how do I get my players to make a run using 360 controls?

I wanna show these fr00bs there are other ways of scoring than long range shots and a tapping into the penalty area.

lol mate, in set pieces its easy to score with headers, i've scored heaps, aim and height of the cross are essential, if you just thump it in and hope you will never score period! as for open play, i only ever scored one.... then again, watch 150 real matches and see how many are scored from open play crosses....

Just try to do it in time...

You might want to try putting your cross assistance, and lob pass assistance to manual.
Also make sure your striker has decent jumping. Aiming for the ground also helps
