ps3 fifa 10 lock up/loosing sound

My issue is after playing a match for a few minutes the commentary goes away and all I have is the game sounds. After that happens if I press the start key it will goto the menu but when you return to the game there is not HUD ie. the names at the bottom and the rating bar. After this happens if its an offline game it just locks up and have to reset the ps3. In an online match I loose control of my player but can still watch the game being played. This happened with ps3 firmware 3.0 and now 3.01. Anyone have any suggestions.
